No just going off what a friend told me that lived there. Said it was called an inspection but paid for with their registration.

Texas most definitely has annual safety and emissions inspections. We recently bought a car from Louisiana because we found lower miles/better price and it is a short drive to Louisiana. You forget you share a border.

She's confused, they are two different things. Usually new cars don't need safety/emissions inspection until the next year (as they are brand new)

Police in Louisiana can't write no insurance tickets on cars registered outside of Louisiana based on a Louisiana Supreme Court decision.

Very simple, you need a valid La driver's license to get a license plate in LA
In Texas, you only need to register the vehicle to get a plate. No license needed

That and insurance in Texas is about half of what Louisiana is

Exactly. Point of the post is to ask others why they people are getting Texas plates. Lots of good answers and some of the typical posters who just want to show their superior intellect. God bless their little hearts.
