I agree with you on that too. Poorly written because its not specific...especially for one of the most common uses of a smart phone.

I'd fight it if I got a ticket for web browsing just for the hell of it to see if I could convince a judge that the law doesn't say I can't post on the OT while driving.

Your wife is an idiot who doesn't care about the welfare of any other driver in her surroundings.

...and it's called distracted driving and people like you and your wife kill tens of thousands annually...a-hole.

She's lucky she didn't kill herself or someone else. Just pull over.

GFY Mr I'm a perfect driver that never breaks any law. But just so you know, she was at a red light, so I don't really think that me lives were in danger, but keep on making assumptions.

And although I agree with a lot of what was said about what she should or should not have done or said, my question was is it illegal to use a web browser while driving, as according to my interpretation of the statute she was sited for, she did not break the law. Since you seem to be so smart, why don't you click on the link I provided, read the law, and tell me where it says that you can not use a web browser on a phone while driving.

The law against it shouldn't be so confusing and the penalty should be much worse. Like 1st offense DWI bad.

If it was, I'd probably stop doing it..

As I said before, you chode, there is a law on the books for "distracted driving", which this falls under.

If you think there is a difference between texting on a mobile device while behind the wheel and web browsing on a mobile device while behind the wheel, well, you aren't very smart.

It is a self inflicted distraction which puts others at risk...quite selfish too, I might add.

Lazy law writing but a judge is gonna say the intent of the law is all mobile device activity.

She should have yelled at Google or siri to get the number for her.

You shouldn't be allowed to have a license much less drive a vehicle.

What about using Waze?

Technically, waze is illegal since you can message/post comments and is a form of social media.

Google/Apple maps however, would be legal.
