I get nearly all of my books from Kindle. I tend to purchase more books and generally have a library of 15-20 that I haven't read yet.

Kindle Paperwhite is the only legitimate answer here. All others are suspect.

All digital, baby. I only buy hard copies of classics.

I only read "real" books, and I keep all the books I read. I pre-order on Amazon, and the hardcover is on my doorstep the day it comes out. I detest reading kindle.

I buy hard copies of life-changing books after I read them on my Kindle.

It depends on the type of book. If it's a reference type book like a lot of my brewing books, then I prefer hard copies. Most other books I get on my Kindle, which is a first gen Fire. I read a lot in bed and the Kindle is much easier than a book. Also I enjoy being able to select the typeface.

The majority of my books are audiobooks.

Kindle. The paperwhite is just as good as a book, I can hold it with one hand, it does other shite besides be a book, and I've never seen a book sell for $.75 if it costs more than $5.00 on Amazon.
Moreover, without the Kindle, I would never have known about Anthony Ryan's Raven's Shadow Trilogy because it was a self-published, digital only publication. The brand spanking new books on Kindle are pretty much always half the price they would be in paper.
AND, as you indicated, I can read the same book using my phone, tablet, or kindle. I don't have to lug around the book itself.
And finally, I am almost never around the half-priced bookstore in town while I am always a click away from a new book on my Kindle. I would sooner rent a book from the library since I can walk there. In fact, I may start doing this now that I have moved.
ETA: You know what else is a nice touch with the Kindle? You can hold down on a word and it'll bring up the definition and origin. You can expand on it as well. Pretty cool little feature that makes reading and analysis much easier.

I subscribe to bookbub.com. I get lots of books free or for a very small price. I use either Kindle or Nook and have the apps on my iPad. I never read on my phone. It's too small and I have old eyes.
I definitely pay full price for books from my favorite authors and do still pick up hard copies of books.
I love to read. The iPad makes it easy to keep lots of books with little storage space, but sometimes you just can't beat the feel of hard copy book.

pay $5 for the convenience of a kindle download or wait until you're near the half priced bookstore in town & pick up a hard copy of the same book for 75 cents?
Well, nothing I read can be found for 75 cents.
But I prefer real books.
For movies, I pay extra to rent from iTunes or Google Play or Amazon for the convenience of not having to leave home.

Just depends. Some books I want now, so the kindle version is better. If I know of a book coming out and want it, ill buy the actual book.
Right now I am reading "Dad is Fat" on the kindle. BTW, that shite is hilarious.

If price isn't a factor, the e-book easy. Another poster mentioned being able to look up definitions as a cool feature. You can also search the book for a phrase, highlight things, keep bookmarks and these will sync to all devices.
The library offers a lot of new titles online so you don't even have to pay for a Kindle download.

I always go with Kindle and use along with Kindle app depending where I am. I like switching back & forth between reading & listening to audio.

are yall just so conservative that you wouldn't consider using a free service that offers ebooks to you? that you pay taxes to support.

it depends, do you like to highlight, make notes and enjoy having your books around to share?
I've done both, I sometimes wished i had a physical copy but prefer digital
pros of digital-
easy access, light, change writing st,yle/font size read in the dark
cons
can;t share the book with everyone, have to worry about charging, if dead you sol,
I'm currently reading my life by bill clinton and its a heavy book. I;m going to have wrist problems after i finish. imo, go digital brah

How hard is it to keep charged a device that can stay in sleep mode for literally over a month?

Same here, not opposed to the technology but I like books. Also a trip to the bookstore is something I really enjoy.
