Last Tuesday Badden Ruin received 1.5 inches of rain in about 30 minutes. Parts of Airline Hwy. we’re covered in about of foot of water. I’ve been to several of the meetings on drainage here in the parish since the Historic August 2016 Flood. Either she does not care about the people of the parish or she has sawdust for brains. I believe that she does not understand that water runs down hill.If Baton Rouge gets another flood like we had in 2016 within the next 5 years I do not see the city/parish recovering. It will become a ghost town.

I'm no Broome fan, but in all fairness, EBR has been trying to get a comprehensive drainage plan for at least the last 15 years, maybe longer. I was working on grants and proposals for this back in 2008 under the Holden admin. The old holdup was in DPW. That might have changed, I don't know.

If this happens, she has few to blame but herself.
She was part of shitcanning a St George ISD in the legislature under the argument of “Maybe being a city would help” then, as mayor, fricked up things so badly that people who might have bought the scare tactics on the first petition didn’t the second time around.
About the only thing she can’t take credit for are EBRPSS being such a shite show and refusing to change, telling people to go form their own school system, as well as the frickery that went on with the first petition where they held it up indefinitely until they could kill it without a vote.
If St George had gone to a vote under Kip and died, it is highly unlikely it could have been revived under SWB because the first attempt at a vote is usually your most successful.

What was the holdup by DPW? Manpower claims for what would have been required to accomplish it?

There’s ALWAYS an excuse for why things can’t get done in this parrish and state. No one on the state or local level can ever grab the bull by the horns and do what’s right to make the necessary and basic improvements. It will NEVER change. EBR will always have a terrible infrastructure, terrible school system, terrible crime problem, and terrible litter problem. This bitch of a mayor from Chicago has zero interest in improving anything. Name one thing she has done in the past 4 1/2 years that has made EBR a better and safer place to live.
And when tax payers in a certain part of the parrish vote to make some changes that will improve and save their area…what does she do? She sues them. Like I said earlier…you think it’s bad now, just wait until they finally get a Soros backed DA in office. frick her, frick BR, and frick LA.

34% of eligible voters showed up to vote. BR is getting what it deserves.

Your standard Louisiana BS. Aversion to change, cronyism, and NIMBYism.

96 homicides for BR, as of today is very much applicable.

People tend not to grasp that much of the rainfall that prompted the 2016 flood fell well north of I-12. If an event with half that much precip sits over the parish, itself, things will get much more sporty. I think it’s just a matter of time.

She is following the other BLUE cities plan....make the city so poor, people flee to the suburubs, and what is left?
One big fat Left Democrat voting block that is easy to manage and control.....
Baton Rouge is on it's way!

By sight - the same way most mayors of major cities all over the country get elected.
