Not only that, but the patient has to be suffering from symptoms to be contagious. The virus can be in your system for a while before the symptoms show up, which freaks people out.

That is what has kept it from spreading but this one doesn't burn out as fast. I've said this a few times before, but plan B when containment fails is widen the containment.

Well he could have gotten treatment sooner if he would have said, "oh yea I did help care for an ebola patient."

I still find it very hard to believe that the people he stayed with for a few days never contracted Ebola.

I read an article this past Friday that he was so weak he couldn't even talk on the phone. That alone hinted that he was headed in the direction.

I just don't understand how people are contracting it. They say it's the exchange of bodily fluids but the nurse in Spain caught it because her gloves touched her face?
Of course, I'm not a doctor. I just assumed as long as you're not peeing on each other and banging each other you're fine.

I say we take off and nuke Dallas from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Well, it is still possible that someone he was in contact with will contract it. It's very unlikely that they do, and it's not very surprising if they don't to me, though.

Well she was changing the diaper of an ebola patient. Are you doing that?

quote:This. I honestly thought it was airborne. That's the only shite that freaks me out. You get ebola from humping and it shows up in like a week. Don't have sex with people who just got off the plane from Africa and I'd think it'd be ok.

No. the best way to treat it is quarantining of those with symptoms and giving early, aggressive volume, fluid, and pressure resuscitation.

Isn't there a 2-3 week incubation period?
Posted on 10/8/14 at 10:46 am to beaverfever
Its not like Aids. You can catch it through sweat, saliva, etc.
