when putting it back together I broke some plastic part, I believe. I simply don't wish to chase gremlins and clean up more water and waste another morning. And that was me going rogue. The wife is fully on team new washer
So only now you say this. It’s because you fricked up. Now you’re trying to minimize your frickup and blaming chasing gremlins, cleaning up water (Oh no!!) and wasting another morning.
Whatever makes you sleep better.
But the fact remains you tried to fix it and broke it more trying. It’s extremely simple stuff. You sir are an idiot and delusional. But we all really know it’s all your fault you’re buying a new washing machine.

In theory it doesn't seem difficult at all. As always, the issue is I am not sure what to do if something goes wrong, and I can't anticipate every possible issue. el gaucho's point ITT, for example, was something I had neve thought about after thinking about this for a few hours last night.

The drain pump uses a barometer pressure sensing switch
The hose clamp usually fails
Put a good hose clamp on
And the speed queen last forever
I am on year 6 with my speed queen

That settles it then. Get new one. Good luck.
ETA: although, you could see about getting the piece that broke and trying to fix it.

I fixed my gas dryer and washing machine on back to back weekend a few weeks back. It’s amazing what you can get by watching a YouTube video.
Dryer was a loose igniter wire and the washing machine was a water level sensor ($12.99 on Amazon).

This feels like you are angry about something other than a washing machine

If I had room outside I would like to do this for experience, but I don't

Understandable, I wouldn’t do it myself, I hate trying to fix stuff. Got a buddy that could do it though.

Slow makes friends on every board and they can't separate the poster from the post.
He got called out for his vote in an election held two decades ago a page or 2 back. In a washing machine thread.

Boomers also enacted regulations and laws due to climate change, which has destroyed appliances, cars, etc.
Couldn't help yourself could ya. Yeah, I'm sure it took manufactures a lot of convincing to make garbage you had to replace every few years.
That's what that the climate farce is really about.

Everything I found on LG washer and dryers was positive with regards to reliability. Even speed queen is having issues these days.
