Manufactured outrage isn’t a sound justification for altering gun rights. It’s almost a weekly occurrence for some of you.

THIS is exactly what is going to happen.

Every progressive that wants gun control will NEVER take the guns away from the most violent demographics. Why? Because the most violent americans vote right with them. They need these people to cause chaos as that is a core tenant of their ideology.

It’s obviously a pattern of mental illness with these flipped chickens.

I'd prefer that we take away the stigma that having mental health problems is something to be embarrassed about and hide or ignore, and make people more comfortable with getting treatment.

Well tell half the country to accept the “cry it out” method doesn’t work for mental health.

You make a good point (apart from mental evaluations for gun ownership). There should be mental evaluations for a plethora of things. Institutions need to be brought back and those who are mentally ill need to be homed there and not at large in public. Those who are committed to such an institution should have certain liberties restricted just as is done regarding felons. However, a mental health evaluation being made a requirement for owning a firearm is a step too far.

There should be a requirement for those desiring to teach in our public schools to undergo a mental evaluation long before such a requirement is made of those who seek to purchase a firearm.

We already subverted the 2nd Amendment with forbidding felons from owning guns.

that doesn't mean we should be trying to subvert it more.

It needs to be treated as a mental disorder, not some bullshite lifestyle. Stop lying to these freaks and endangering the rest of society.

This worldview is part of the problem my friend. Mental health issues are disorders in the exact same way diabetes is a disorder. Both are physical health issues....simply calling mental health issues anything other than physical health is the beginning of the problem....very few people blame cancer patients for their cancer yet almost everyone will blame people with mental health issues for their physical issues. It is a physical ailment in exactly the same way cancer, diabetes and common colds are physical. The brain is an organ just like the heart and lungs....almost the entirety of issues related to mental health are chemical in nature just like diabetes. Calling people with diabetes freaks and saying their lifestyle if bullshite would eventually drive diabetics further and further away from society.

Is it really that an extreme example? We learned the other day that a leftist school administrator called child protective services on families whose kids wanted to start a TPUSA chapter.

This is another poor analogy by you.

If someone thinks they have cancer, we don’t affirm the feeling and build public policy around it. We run tests. We verify it. We diagnose based on measurable evidence. Same with diabetes: blood sugar levels, insulin response, objective metrics. Medicine first, feelings second. Not the same.

You know why this sort of thing didn’t happen until recently?

Because we use to lock mentally deranged people like him away in insane asylums.

People just got kicked out a parade for trying to be inclusive and the "victims" are being rewarded even though everyone knows it's all bullshite. And let's not even talk about the difference in treatment of J6ers and all the summer of love "peaceful protesters." That kind of abuse would absolutely happen.

Dude needed help in an insane asylum where they could pump drugs in him and maybe some electroshock therapy. Anything but being allowed to pretend he was a normal member of a healthy functioning society
