The division within the republican party is going to have a long term impact on this country. If Trump doesn't win the Republican nomination I could see him running as an independent.

I remember his son giving a speech saying "The Republican party is now Trump's party" after the last election so if he convinces himself that there were Republicans who only voted for Biden because they didn't like him who will vote for the Republican candidate this time around, the Democrats will not have as many votes this go around and that splitting the votes into 3 would work in his favor things would get chaotic.

I started a thread back in May where I had 4k in lift rides charged to my credit card. I’m pretty sure there were a few other people chime in and say they had something similar.

Exactly, Blue Dog democrats have more nuts than the pansy arse Republicans in Baton Rouge. But, at the same time most of the the politicians in BR are really just worried about anything that concerns them. frick the State of Louisiana, as long as a politician gets enough votes from whatever shite hole in Louisiana the politician comes from.

Let me know where I can move to a land with honest politicians? That place does not exist. The best you can hope for is for your politicians to stay out of your life.

This psyop is really a cover up to clean a crime scene. OMV is “back door” connected to electronic voter registration portal. Our crooked government officials are cleaning up their illegal activity of registering voters unknowingly…against their will..

MoveIt probably has a relatively small limit of liability compared to the scope of data impacted by the breach. Their cyber liability policy will top out and consumers won’t get all the credit monitoring due and they will be out of business. Betting dimes to dollars the state has a waiver and zero liability in the breach.

That’s not how liability works.

The reporting indicates that the breach happened before they knew the software had a vulnerability.

Therefore it was not due to negligence on the states part, at least this time.

My company is a middle man for PHI. I use a 3rd party vendor to host my clients’ data. If my vendor has a breach and they exhaust their insurance and hit their limit of liability, my insurance kicks in as secondary since I have an obligation to my clients based upon my contractual requirements.

In the case of the state, one would think MoveIt is the same as my 3rd party vendor and the state is my company, with the state’s clients being the citizens. Not familiar with how the state limits its liability and risk exposure, but I suspect they have a get out of jail free and are exempt from litigation, passing it all onto the 3rd party vendor.

The limitation of liability depends on the contract language and data breach definitions, as losses could be tied to gross negligence or negligence, which is defined differently in each state.

Just my two cents

There was no negligence here. Morris Bart will fail.

“Increasingly, however, just the act of selling software later deemed to be “defective” due to security flaws has resulted in liability to companies.”

Someone will be left holding the bag and it likely won’t be the state. Class action case will give every LA resident $1 less attorneys fees.

I know this is a crazy question. Could a class action lawsuit be brought against the state and Edwards administration for covering this up and hiding it from the people of Louisiana?

Anyone can sue. It’s up to an attorney to convince a judge that it’s worthy of class action status and grant it.

The IT people in charge of cybersecurity are employees not elected. They don’t change with the administration.
