I don't use a tie clip, but I do have to use a little pin for this purpose.

My grandpa saw me with my tie bar and tried explaining to me that they were out-of-style and had been for years. He then proceeded to explain that I should wear a tie pin, if anything.

I chuckled because I find that a tie pin is usually found on older men now, while a tie bar is more popular with 20-somethings.

I just turned on avatar images to see the shoes you were talking about and now I remember why I turned them off. The avatar images can be very distracting.

Isnt a tie clasp one of the few accessories allowed for military uniforms? I dont think the marines are a bunch of homos.

Tie bars were never out of style to begin with.

Too bad for you then that they've been back in style for about a year, at least.

With a suit with slim lapels and a narrow tie and tight white shirt, a tie bar can look boss. No chain.

PM me when you need more advice on how to dress.
It's obviously too late to help you with username choice.

I wear one sometimes because sometimes the back piece of the tie doesn't go down far enough. Instead of letting it flop around, I tie clip that thing down.
