That sounds like a corrosion problem

Found that the starters on Toyotas are behind the exhaust manifold, behind the heat shield. Hell of a place to be.

On my Tundra the starter is underneath the intake manifold

From the thread title I thought this was about a sex toy.

I bought this one this morning. Before that tried using my wife's car to jump off the truck same thing, same one click.

Modern vehicles are freaky like that......I’ve had a couple of times where I couldn’t jump the vehicle off fro shite and it still turned out to be a dead battery. As someone mentioned earlier...turn the headlights on and try to start it....if the lights go dim/off when you turn the key, that’s a pretty good sign.

So far it has come to this. Banged on the starter, nothing. Gonna have a mechanic come by tomorrow and replace the starter. God I hope it's just the fricking starter because it can be numerous of things.

If not then, probably the Throttle Body which is a special order and costs $300.

It's stuck bro....can't u pull the air induction tube off of it and try to jar it lose with fingers or a tool? Take the throttle body off and clean it, just wipe it clean...not hard to remove, tbh it isn't hard to try and unjar the flap if it's stuck open

Is it one of the Main fuses or possibly the throttle body sensor fuse?

I’m not familiar with Toyotas but in our old dodge one of the fuses would come loose every once in a while - and it wouldn’t start, couldn’t be jumped either

Throttle Body Sensor

Sensor, not the actual throttle body.

He is lucky it is not an older model with the 4.7. The starter is under the intake manifold. What a cluster, a normal starter swap tkaes 30 minutes, this takes 4 hours minimum. Plus drain fluids, replace gaskets etc.

Just had to change my starter on my 2011 Tundra. Not cheap as they have to remove the exhaust manifold to get to it. You have the same symptoms.
