That is a complete bitch move by the police who decided to give you a ticket. Something like this.. It should be required, that if they are going to do anything.. To at least give a warning first.

How much do you want to bet that a neighbor who already complained to him, called the cops?

Typically someone had to complain.
Usually an HOA or neighborhood association calls to complain about parking.
Then the on duty supervisor has his person picked for the fun duty of going around issuing pricks a citation.
The parking laws are on the books in most city or suburban areas. Typically not enforced unless someone complains or the area is enforced strictly by a parking authority.

When my kids were little, I’d pull them in wagon on the sidewalk around the neighborhood where we lived. It really sucked when having to navigate around a-hole’s vehicles that blocked the sidewalk.
Apparently you are too poor to have adequate room for parking you’re vehicles, so you need to do with less vehicles until you are able to afford a bigger place.
