What I am a hungry accountant? I'm not doing math and tippin'!

Just sag your pants and turn you hat sideways, say sheeeet! When the tablet comes out they won't expect much, if anything

It’s always a treat to dine in a foreign country where 10% is considered a good tip

If I do my job sub par, I get fired. I sure as hell don't get a 15% bonus.

Sub par = 0 tip.

Well is the food sub par or the service? There's a difference. Say the service was great but the food sucks. Do you tip? What if the server puts your drinks in, but the bartender sucks? Still 0?

in a lot of countries tipping is not expected and in fact, insulting to the wait staff

I would have said something to her. The times I give cash, the server normally says I'll be right back with your change, I either say just keep it or in your case where bill was $26 and you should get $14 back, I'd just say bring me $9 back and you can keep the rest.

I don't tip if I have to stand up and place an order at a counter or window, they can get bent, I don't care, they are getting at least minimum wage and knew what they were going to get paid before they took the job. Here is how I tip servers at a restaurant. 0% for awful service, 5% for sub-par, 10% for average, 15% for above average, 20% for exceptional, all of this is subjective of course.

I'll give a couple bucks if I order take out and I sit in my car and they bring the food to me, same thing for Sonic, normally $5 for pizza delivery. That's about the extent of my tipping.

Many of these places don't even get the tips. They go to the CC vendor providing the tablet or reader. That's probably why your last encounter went that way. She knew.

Dont give cash, Ive had friends tell me I should tip with cash bc the server can avoid taxes. My response is its not my job to help them avoid taxes. Im annoyed people even mention this.

They don’t pay taxes on tips as of last year.

Stupid take. Any adult knows the server can't control the quality of the food.

Not happening.

10% Good job
15% Outstanding job
20% Outstanding job and you put yourself in harm's way.

Otherwise, they get 0.

It's absurd what tipping culture has become. People asking for a tip at the drive thru is peak lol for me.

Unless I'm sitting down to order and you bring my food and drinks to me, I'm not tipping. I may add in a buck or two if I pick it up to go but people thinking I'll pay for a to go order and then tip another 20% when I arrive at the counter can gthoh.

I let the manager know right away and have never failed to get something fixed. If they don't fix it, I don't come back.

I still tip if the service is good. I never understood people screaming and hollering at the waitress when they don't like their food. I don't punish the waitress because the kitchen sucked that night.

It’s like you take pride in being a shitty tipper.

its to the point where you tip everything and it's all expensive.

Its hard for me to not spend $100 to take my family out to eat at a sit down place.

You just allowed someone to steal your money right in front of you & said nothing? My brain can't wrap that.

When my wife and I go to the UK (which is usually once a year), I never tip. It's never expected.

That was my point. The poor guy or girl waiting your table isn't cooking your food. You can still leave a little tip for that person if they tried give you a good experience
