This seems to be the most important story in the country right now. Earlier this morning I checked the news channels and I think it was CNN who had some "legal advisor" on there explaining what it will take for the swimmers to get back to the US, etc, etc.
We are talking about a few swimmers on the US team who made up a story about being robbed because they didn't want to tell the true story. It was revealed they lied. For that, the media brings in all these people to explain to everyone the legal process, etc, etc.

That's exactly what either side will be screaming if any of them donate money. Some liberal is going to scream anyway that giving supplies is vote buying. It doesn't matter how sincere folks may be...someone is going to believe there's an ulterior motive and complain. There are people complaining that Trump came here at all. No one else is coming here, so far. I'm glad someone with a national presence showed up.

I think a few houses got water from the rain pooling in their yard. The creek got up but didn't affect any homes

Whatever he did...drawing attention to the needs of the victims was a good thing. Him donating a truck load of toys and supplies was also a good thing.
Louisiana will pull itself up by its boot straps again regardless.

Trump personally donates basically no money. His foundation makes donations but he doesn't contribute to his own foundation. Trump is as uncharitable as it comes, look at WaPo's reporting on his giving.
