I live in Louisiana and would move to Tennessee in a heartbeat.

I much prefer a Boston winter to a Louisiana summer

I'd prefer Boston's weather overall too. I don't care for the climate in the Deep South at all really.

Since I can't start a thread if anyone wants to start a thread about this feel free.

Anyone saw the story about the Southern Cheerleader who committed suicide last night?

She jumped in the river, but before doing so posted a note on IG. Its actually really sad.

I know a couple people that moved there from the south and they like the weather. Most of the major southern cities get as much or more rain. I also know a couple people that hiked the PNW trail. Loved it more than App trail. Both hiked entire trail. Another friend did RV tour from socal to Seattle. Loved it. I do think they enjoyed the trip from Memphis to Cape coral Florida upt to Virginia more.

People like to crap on stuff they haven't experienced. I prefer to keep an open mind. The entire US has wonderful parts in every state. Even LA and even North Dakota... Well maybe not north Dakota but I can't vouch for it. Only been to south dakota.

Just start a thread about it Christopher. I’m sure they’ll allow it for something like that

You’d think with obesity being such an issue with the population of Louisiana they’d want out and move to a cooler climate.

Same. I don't see how people could ever return, unless you just really enjoy heat and humidity. Its just so much more pleasant for outdoor stuff.

The PNW is probably my ideal climate in the US. I realize that's pretty subjective.

My wife will never move that far though. The Ozarks or parts of the Carolinas/Tennessee would be a big improvement over LA to me.

Well, that makes it so true. The people you kept company with were shady, so therefore they all are

Didn’t you move there with a shady past?

It's not too shabby.

It's even better if you aren't surrounded by liberal figs.

If you consider shady getting kicked out of class C softball for running over a catcher, I suppose.

I don't know where you people get these fairy tales.

Seattle gets a bad rap. It is no worse than Chicago or NY City. Definitely not as bad as Minneapolis. Definitely not 100 degrees like Phoenix. Plenty of metros worse than it IMO.

Seattle gets a bad rap because Thanksgiving thru mid January is gloomy, dark, non stop drizzle. Seattle is quite north, so short winter daylight plus the annual non-stop drizzle makes it tough for some. I admit, the dark sucks, but we get more daylight than places further north, like Paris, France. The drizzle sucks, but it is so light umbrellas are a rare commodity. If you hate rain, hit Sequim or some of the islands in the rainshadow, hit the snow of the Cascades, or hit the sunny Eastern Washington.

The great thing about them is they don't seem to like to venture into enemy territory very often, and live in patches or bubbles.

If Texas and Louisiana aren’t on the list, it’s not a real list.

Meh Texas is too big, Dallas and the panhandle have arguments but they are pretty similar to middle Tn and Kentucky

So is Alaska.

Some areas rarely get cold enough to snow. Maritime influence is incredible. Southern part of Southeast is the banana belt.

Juneau is right on the edge of the change, and most people hate our weather. Lots of clouds, rain wind and snow.
