Corksrew BBQ in Spring is the best.

Blue oak is good but edging towards overrated
And this is the best BBQ New Orleans has to offer. I mean the chain Jim n' Nicks is on par with Blue Oak.

Memphis BBQ is the best but it's changed from the old tango red sauce to a sweet red Kansas City style sauce. I miss the old stuff. When it was paired with a well smoked hog shoulder, there was nothing better.

Finally, some sanity interjected into this unmitigated madness.
Houston, TEXAS is the BBQ capital of the world, nation, and state. It has more top shelf joints than those 10 cities combined.

Another reason not to ever use TripAdvisor. Seriously.

Arkansas bbq is better than the bbq in New Orleans.

New Orleans BBQ is easy to beat. I grew up in this area an have always complained that the New Orleans area does not have good BBQ. Blue Oak is pretty good but not like some of the places in Texas.

I see lots of cities that don't have a big time BBQ culture. You have a few that are pretty good vs a lot of differing quality. Plus in the competitive places, you get rated relative to the area.
This probably drags the avg down in Texas, to the point I'd expect a ten worst list to be dominated by Texas.

Pretty sure BBQ is pretty hard to find in some of those places

Lexington, NC claims to be the BBQ Capital of the World and has a big yearly BBQ festival (that’s how bad TripAdvisor missed the mark). Those are fightin’ words in the Carolinas but Charlotte never comes up in the conversation.

I've been in and out of Columbus my whole life, and I don't know anything about any barbeque there. I guarantee if someone recommended something in Columbus, you'd go there and say, "It's all right."
City BBQ is legit. Brisket is as good as any I've had in Tx.
