Not custom but I did the black plates on my new vehicle. Dark grey truck with black trim and the ugly arse Texas white plate? No way.

My parents started doing custom plates in 86. Cold war, the Mercury Sable had the plate, "Typhoon" (SSBN), the 1980 Datsun 510 had, "Spetznz," (Spestnaz, USSR Special Ops.)
I try to be pretty anonymous, because I don't drive like a bitch, and I know there is some frickwad with two "STUDENT DRIVER PLEASE BE PATIENT," stickers on their car that will try to remember my vehicle when I blow by them for doing 40 in a 60. That seems to be a Houston thing, with the student driver BS. My plate is a word in Hebrew (English letters, obv), which other than the LSU plate it's printed on, nobody would understand outside of Meyerland, so I presume it makes me harder to track down.

Nah. We got you on the list. One of our student drivers saw you driving foolishly and reported the plate.

Yeah, I saw her, she slammed on the brakes in a 60 to slow down to under 40 in order to take an exit that she could have changed lanes for 3/4 of a mile before the last second realization.

Arizona has an Alice Cooper plate and that’s pretty cool…

The UA Alaman plates were great for a while people were adding 55 behind the script A and getting a way with it. A55MAN
