After three feet of water in my new house last August, butthole kind of pickers up seeing that yellow color so close.

^^^
A small shift westward would result in a March 2016 type scenario on the Amite.

Still a lot to figure out but the flood threat is very real for anyone from Houston eastward.

I know, still a multi variable set up.

I'm just getting furnature and work nearly finished on the house. If we flood again...

I don't know who to blame, but I'm torch and pitchforking that a-hole.

I say ANYONE in southeast Louisiana who owns a home lower than two feet above the ground who STILL doesn't have flood insurance after Katrina, Isaac, March 2016 & August 2016 is a dumbass living either in denial or under a gotdamn rock and deserves the unimaginable cleanup and rebuilding task if they flood this time.

Buy the damn insurance. After August I will never NOT have flood insurance again. That's too much to go through with no coverage.

I have that flood insurance, would be insane not to. I knew when I bought my place either would take a bigger than 83 event to flood, but that's still far too possible to not.

I feel fricking sick. My GF flooded in the 2016 northshore flood. She and her kid had to be rescued by boat and she's still very traumatized by it. Another one may do her in mentally.

Don't freak out yet.

The possiblity is horrifying, but back in August models had us getting 20+ inches days in advance. This system has a wide range of paths it could take.

What would 17 inches of rain do to New Orleans?

I'm no weatherman but it could get the roads a little wet.

The ground would also likely be saturated, especially if the roads become so
