I'm more concerned with when this will be over. I am guessing late Thursday early Friday?

Latest NAM run would suggest that it correct.

I'm seeing that uptown New Orleans won't get anything more than maybe 6" of rain. Not flaming, just looking for someone to tell me I'm wrong.

The NHC greatly appreciates the observations reported by ships C6CE8, ABVZ5, D5DY4, V7MO2, and WHED, which have been navigating through and near the center of Cindy for the past several hours.
Damn. Thanks, baws!

Seems like a stronger storm would tighten the circulation and not be such a widespread rainmaker?
Forward speed is usually the primary concern with flooding and tropical systems.

I haven't gotten a water advisory yet since I moved here, but this will be my first storm since I moved to the beach.
I'm filling up my extra bathtub.

Fingers crossed that they're right.
Cindy is such a mess of a system with no end to the dry air and shear until it gets closed to landfall. It would be extremely surprising to see more strengthening.

How many inches rain is the Lafayette area projected to get? Last I read, it was around 4". Is this still about what's expected through Friday?
