Getting a Tyrone+ would be unexpected

Serious question for BR.
Is the worst of it past, current, or yet to come.
If the projected track holds, I don't see how BR doesn't get some significant rain and at least 30 MPH+ or so winds.

That's what I'm thinking. Most of the projected tracks look to have it making landfall near the TX/LA line, and it seems the worst of things are on the eastern side. That would include BR. It's just out in the gulf dragging arse. Maybe late tonight early tomorrow expect rain for BR?

I hate how people overreact. I had a meeting canceled today and was told to stay home from the office. Today is a perfectly fine day. If anything is a little bad it'll happen on Thursday so I'm probably gonna be home tomorrow too and two days behind on work. I got an email around 10 pm last night saying stay home. You know he felt like an idiot at 8 this morning when the birds were out and chirping. I have no problem with taking precautions tomorrow but doing it today was jumping the gun quite a bit.

Luckily that isn't shite compared to Isaac. And if Friends were still open they would be in the clear!

Thank the flood of 2016 for that. Gross overreaction yes, but somewhat understandable.

Agreed. It's kind of a catch 22. Underestimate things and end up with a August flood situation, or overreact and have a ton of people sitting at home today when the weather is perfectly fine.
I talked to a lady last week who is some bigwig at a college in South Carolina. She said she always wished growing up to be the person who could cancel school, and now she loathes it. There's much more that goes into decisions like that than a lot of people are aware of.

Looking at the radar, BR should be getting the rain pretty soon.

I don't keep up with weather much, to be honest. But do most of yall use wunderground or the other sites linked in the OP? I usually just use weather channel or WBRZ. WBRZ has got to be the absolute worst weather resource in the entire area. The desktop and app interface are complete shite. I'm going to start going to WAFB for local forecast stuff.

This is where I look at the radar on my work computer. I come to the OT for all other weather and news. :|

Does anybody use the message boards over at Gulfcoastwx? Is their site down or something?

Are roads or i10 sometimes closed during tropical storms? I'm trying to drive home from Texas to Thibodaux tonight.
Yes this is stupid I know.

Not sure of the answer to that, but did find the DOTD site that tracks road closures. That may help. (SIAP)

Just a squal line coming through. It won't last long... I expect this to continue until the a.m. It will rain some then quit for a few hours and then rain again... and so on....
