Are you bitter about being taxed for having to educate them?

Here is a thought.
Let local schools do what they want and if the federal government does not like it cut the spending and the taxes that pay for it.

What exactly is it about the Republican Party platform that appeals to a working class guys in Louisiana?
Its not the policies they push. Its the policies they dont push.
Most people dont want government intrusion. Most of what Republican constituents want their representatives to do is push back against or outright repeal legislation, not enact new legislation. Most of them are generally happy with their lives and the things they arent happy with they feel the government doesnt have the solutions for and/or wouldnt be willing to trade the loss of liberty in exchange for anyway.
It seems that most Democrat voters are looking for the government to provide solutions to their problems in their lives or the lives of others. Real or perceived.
The real difference between the two is how they choose to address problems. Basically distills down to the "role of government". Democrats think government should/can provide most/all solutions to most/all problems in peoples personal lives. Republicans think people/individuals should/can provide most/all solutions to most/all problems in peoples personal lives. Thats why you hear them talk about "personal responsibility" and "small government" and why they resist most or all social programs.
Its not that they dont care about poor people or marginalized groups. Its that they dont think the government can help them long term. Bootstrap ideology.
If Republicans dont care about poor people then why are so many the first to give to charity or work in church groups helping the needy?

They should be serving chicken tacos and Turkey chili 2 days a week. Lots of beans too.
Just, for the love of god, give the kids a Crispito once a week.

Damn, Trump ain't even letting them keep their shitty lunch program.
Dude is going HAM right now. Taxes, entitlements, school lunches. Great stuff

back in high school we had the "healthy lunches". they were so bad that kids would not eat then go to the vending machines and fill up on brownies and chips to get them through the day..... examples of the lunches are nothing but flat wheat bread, crunchy wheat rice, and soggy sweet potato fries. at one point we couldn't even have mashed potatoes

Because we've got a bunch of obese morons on here who care more about food tasting "good" than children's health.
What does giving kids shitty cheap low calorie food have to do with health?
You can make foods somewhat healthy without cutting it down to a few carrot sticks and a tiny piece of fish. High school kids especially need protein and lots of it.

It absolutely matters what you eat. You think 2,000 calories of donuts and candy is the same as 2,000 calories of lean protein and vegetables?
Yes, because they served donuts and candy for lunch... at least come with some sound points to the debate. Of course 2000 calories of donuts is unhealthy. If you eat a salad at lunch versus a slice of pizza for lunch it's not really going to make a difference and that's not why kids are obese. That's the point I was making, and the fact that the kid throwing away the salad and not eating is less healthy than than eating a slice of pizza.

I hope your kids get diabetes, all because y’all couldn’t stand a black lady telling your kids what to eat

Long story short, you’re a racist.

I highly doubt kids are getting obese from school lunches. It's when they go home, eat potato chips, drink soft drinks, and don't go outside when they start compromising their growth and health.
