I would love for this to happen just for the entertainment factor of watching the chaos.
1. People moving to California just to get paid.
2. Californians trying to determine who is “black enough” to get paid. This one will be especially funny considering they can’t even agree what gender someone is and are on record saying if you identify as something, you are that something. And of course the inevitable lawsuits and hysteria when someone is denied payment.
3. Politicians telling the 99.999999% of the population whose ancestors never owned slaves and the 99.9% whose ancestors weren’t even in the US at the time, that their tax money is going to this cause.
4. Finally, the instant consumerism that would happen would be hysterical. God the expensive stereotypical junk that would be bought. This would be followed by the inevitable arguments that rich white people unfairly got richer by selling goods and services and therefore should have to pay it back so another round of reparations could happen.
This is a comedy goldmine. Go California go!

As long as it’s only California tax money, and not federal. I think it’s fricking retarded either way but California will continue to do stupid shite until California runs out of wealthy people to tax. I also find it amusing that the USA is almost the only country brought up when it concerns slavery, I guess everyone forgot about all that world history before the USA was even a pipe dream.

What about reparations for ancestors of Southerners for all the property burned, stolen, killed, raped etc? The South is still feeling the results of this which is a big reason why it's still the poorest region.
