Junteenth is a legitimate 3rd Coast celebration

being celebrated elsewhere is kind of bullshite, though

meh. You can make the same argument against July 4th being celebrated outside of the OG 13 colonies. Throw in the Great Migration and Juneteenth celebrations nationwide is fine by me.

Understandable with Usher's slave past. The man has had it rough, did you know he's not even worth $200 million?

As opposed to tyranny of King George we all experienced?

All the little strong safeties who've never been held as slaves care. A lot.

I personally think Juneteenth should be national holiday as it is a marker of US racial progression

Juneteenth is a state holiday in Texas. But, so is Confederate Heroes Day (Robert E. Lee's birthday)! And every few years CHD falls on MLK day. Guess which one most Texans celebrate!

I'm about as redneck and conservative as it gets and I have no problem with blacks celebrating Juneteenth. However when they try to take substitute our nation's birthday with Juneteenth that's where I have the problem.

It goes right along with where our society is headed though. Self interests before those of our collective whole. It's really not surprising when you think about it.
