The one time I stayed in Baltimore for some training, I found a weird glass object under the bed. I wasn't inspecting the room or anything like that, just saw it when I grabbed my shoes. It was a Hazmat course so there were people from industry and multiple agencies there. I showed the object to a Washington State trooper and as suspected it was a crack pipe. This was in Glenn Burnie kind of like Kenner to NO.

I worked and stayed north of the city 6 months and liked it.
But in the city, one night I accidentally ended up in a hood just like on The Wire, on a Friday night. Shwewwew

It's been a couple of years, but I have been to the aquarium a few times and enjoyed it. There are also a couple of ships you can tour, including the USS Constellation, a frigate. We took the water taxi from there to Fort McHenry and then to Fells Point. That was nice.
As a previous poster said, Baltimore should be a great city, but so much of the industry left...steel mills, breweries, and so on, that it struggles now. Used to be a lot of blue collar jobs and folks there love the Orioles and loved the Colts.
I like the accent.

Was there in the late 90s and hung around the inner harbor for the most part... was there doing a job for Johns Hopkins.

I find the hard-luck and ruinous cities fascinating. Baltimore, Cleveland, Buffalo, Detroit, Philly. The latter two have some life downtown. I was impressed. Pittsburgh is another, but it’s too nice to be called ruinous anymore.

In the last 6 weeks, I visited SF, NOLA , NYC. Didn’t get raped and didn’t see anyone shite on the sidewalk. Had a great time in each city. Amazing what happens when you live your life instead of wasting your life on social media.

Throw St. Louis in there.
Baltimore isn't great but there's enough to spend a good day or two. Orioles games are fun. As another poster said, it's never going to have more going for it than DC or Philly, which gives it a pretty big economic disadvantage.
