Walk us through the numbers.
Reduce dividend of a chain like McDonald’s by a percentage you deem appropriate. Calculate the per hour benefit to all employees. Will not be easy with franchises but will be interesting.
I did something similar with the CEO of Cigna and cut his pay to zero. Then calculated the savings per insured. It was minuscule.

Just like the CEO of GM. It made basically no difference.

do know for a fact that overpaying for labor will put you at a competitive disadvantage in industries with such small margins.
Is your Save-a-lot not doing too well?

You serious Clark?
Do know how much apartments and cars are now?

Because that is not where the $24 billion in profit is going.

I thought this was a fair thing to ask for from someone who’s as smart as you.

Is that how you measure a businessman's success? By the number of businesses they've owned?
Interesting.
I would have expected some other metric.

Most of these fast food chain could pay more in wages by cutting dividens.
They absolutely could, fast food or any of the big boys that are worth billions, but they won’t. Greedflation, I don’t even know if that’s a real word but I heard it from Scoot on WWL. People are in business to make money, it’s really that simple. What’s the point of raising the minimum wage, when all its going to do is put you exactly where you were before you got a raise?

There's no empirical basis for this. If you take a look at every MW hike in history, you will find the CPI appears to not even notice in fact most of the time the inflation rate has ticked slightly *down* in the year following a MW hike.

So you don’t understand basic economics. Thanks for letting us know.

Maybe learn a trade instead of bitching about your current lot in life, do something about it.
Not that you're entirely wrong, but it is funny how much contempt we show to service workers while still venerating CEOs and office workers, many of who spend as much time sitting in a meeting, surfing facebook or playing golf as anything resembling work.
We'll all be eventually replaced by robots, anyway, so it doesn't matter much.
