The no kids thing is probably me just looking for an excuse not to go to the wedding anyway

Why?

Check out iAmBatman's response.

As LL stated most receptions that I've been to are basically bars (classy or otherwise). Why aren't kids allowed in bars?

If the reception was that close to a bar room then it probably wasn't classy

Understandable, but not the norm from all the weddings I've personally been to. Totally possible to get stuck with a bunch of brats though.

This is a really dumb reason. It's borderline not worth even responding to.

I have been to triple-digit weddings where people get trashed..

If I had children I was close to (a sibling's child or something), I might have them. But a friend or random cousin's kid? Nah.

Hell, I don't even want to invite most of my cousins. Large family and I barely speak to any of them other than Christmas.

People get trashed at home. Should kids also not be allowed at home?

Alcohol, music, and dancing. That sounds like a bar to me

I only go to weddings during the proper wedding season. I have other things to do during non wedding season.

If you're getting trashed with your toddler at home, there's an issue.

At a wedding, there are OTHER people getting trashed. Also no reason for a baby to be out until 11pm with nothing kid-friendly.

Jones and I saw a newborn at a LOUD wedding reception a while back and almost had a conniption.

You're really sticking with this?

I've had booze, music, and dancing at my house plenty of times. I guess it's time to register for a liquor license.

Because I felt like my wedding reception wouldn't be an appropriate place for children?

Why don't you give it a shot, and respond to it.

Are you implying money buys class?

And that was an awful way to word your thought BTW. It sounded like you had been to 100+ weddings.

No, that you think a wedding reception and a bar are the same thing.

I can spend a million dollars on a wedding, that doesn't make it classy

Did you have kids running around, too? Was this a night time event, or were there things for kids to do outside, etc...?

That's your opinion. And there are plenty of kid friendly things for receptions where kids are allowed. They're called other kids.

I'm sure the baby will never recover.
