That's not bad, for a hipster

At least they can look at those participation trophies and remember back when they were something important.

I'm so tired of this criticism. No child asked for participation trophies; the fricking adults, aka the Boomers, gave them to the kids.

Had one trainee threaten to call in a SHARPEO (the little idiots don't grasp the fact that SHARP and EO are two completely different things so they just run them together) complaint because she was told to mop the CTA floor faster

So this all stems from you not getting to assert your insecurities on other people at will.

Your numerous useless and incoherent posts make so much more sense now.

This. Because the Boomers were so fragile and hinged so much on their goddamn ego, they needed their kids to have the illusion of success so they felt like adequate parents.

Newsflash...you weren't. And the current state of affairs in our country makes it very evident.

the vast majority of the 46% was still being on their parents cell phone plan

My parents and I shared a cellphone plan for years, long after I was in the workforce. It was substantially cheaper for me to be on their plan than one on my own. I paid for it though. Now my dad has joined my plan because every line I add the price per line decreases so adding him on increased the bill by like $15 so it's substantially less than what he was paying by himself.

Sounds like you hate your parents for giving you stuff.

real question is why can't the Boomer parents cut the apron strings ?

Gen X is raising Millennials more so than Boomers.

My grandparents took my family and my dad's two siblings family on vacation every year until it became too hard for everyone to sync schedules. Not because any of the kids couldn't afford it, but because my grandparents could afford it and wanted to share and spend time with their entire family together. My parents paid for most of my college and still pick up the tab at dinner a lot of times. Again, not because I can't pay for my own food, but because they like sharing and spending time with their kids.

Not everyone is as close to their families as well, sometimes these gifts are the only way to get the family to go on a vacation together. Honestly, that's what it would take for me to go with my family and use my time off/money to do something like that.

The Boomers have been a known problem for a while but millennials are doing nothing to right the ship. They're just wading in their bearded, tattooed, ipa drinking feces until the next handout comes along.

Never understood why it’s more socially acceptable to brag about being poor and making it than bragging about not being poor and making it

My allowance was my parents buying me the things I needed when I was a teenager. School clothes, school material. One day they up and decided to buy me a stereo for my room. There was a sale and it was 75% off. That was a big deal because then I was able to get my brother's tapes and make copies from the blank tapes I was able to talk my parents into buying when they were getting the stereo.

Oh my God! Who the hell cares?!?!

Nowhere is this more evident than the Army BCT cycle I just got back from. The current generation is garbage when put in even the rather moderate amount of physical and mental stress basic training is now hamstrung into delivering.

Let me guess. I bet when you went through boot camp, that was one of the last years it was actually hard. I guarantee you there were men in the military a generation older than you saying basically the same thing about the recruits your age.

People are inherently jealous and apathetic. The "nobody works harder than me" deal. People that weren't poor and make it didn't work as hard as people that were in made it in people mind whether it's true or not.

Like shite is supposed to be fair anyway.
