IDK, but I live near a middle school and the number of parents that are there to watch their 12 years old run track and play tennis is ten times what is was pre-Covid. It's crazy how many people can just take off in the middle of the week at 2P.M. and look like they haven't been at work - at all - the entire day.

Turn of the century gold watches from estate sales

I haven’t heard of any white collar businesses having staffing issues, I may be wrong on that though
I was competing with as many as 220 other applicants during my last job search. And this is on Indeed where you have skills tests to deter spray-and-pray job seekers.
Job market for decent (non flip burgers or bag groceries) jobs is tougher than the Great Recession.

That is a big issue that corporations havent solved.
The workforce has turned into mercenaries.
No, they know the solution, they don't want to implement it. If corporations showed some loyalty they would pay their current employees a wage competitive enough to make them not want to leave for contract jobs. They won't do this because they keep telling themselves it is temporary and that contract labor is cheaper over the long run. I don't think this is temporary and the smart move would be to pay your staff employees more. They simply don't want that rate hike on the books so they will pay someone 3X the amount on a contract PLUS the 20-33% the staffing company charges.
The fact is companies are still making money paying the extremely high wages, they can afford to pay more to their staff.
It is also ridiculous what a nurse makes. In BR your Costco cashier and uber driver make more than a Nurse working on staff at a hospital.

Yep local Mcdonald’s closing at 3pm today cause they have no workers.

Living on love, buying on time.

You also have to buy the product to sell that now costs more. So higher cost of goods and higher labor means higher menu prices.
You forgot one big option. They can also lower thei profit margins. If you suggest that, people act like you suggested they eat a turd.
I am seeing many discussions of employers wanting to get back to the good old days, when they could pay poorly and treat people bad. Appleby's just got exposed on that.
My wife just emailed a company that has an ad out for a 3-d, wfh, computer job. She asked for a salary range, to see if there was any point in pursuing it. She was ignored.

I applied for an accounting position and they wrote back to offer an interview. But they also said "It's $10 an hour. Is that going to be a problem?"
I politely declined. Then wished I'd said I have a better offer from Burger King.

Have you thought of raising the pay?
Have you thought of being fiscally solvent under an economy facing massive inflationary pressure?

In today's climate, you are supposed to make a Tik Tok, putting them on blast for wasting your time with their racist, slave offer.

The inflation is from the increase in the money supply NOT what people make
No, but rapid rises in wages can cause price shocks. That's happening right now.

Not if you have even a modicum of intelligence or work ethic.
I can't recall the market ever being better for my skillset than it is right now. Granted much of it has to do with the explosion of remote work. Those used to be maybe 25% of jobs in my area pre Covid. Now it's like 75%.

How could an employer possibly know your work ethic until you’re on the payroll actually working for them?
The interview and your previous work history? I mean that's kind of the point of having an interview and resume.
