Just picked it up about a month ago. Absolutely love it. Like someone else mentioned, it's quick, no dress code and laid back. I've only played at the Highland Park course in BR so far. You'll run into some characters out there but it's a blast IMO.

That course has so much potential. It's a shame BREC won't upgrade it.

Agreed. They could def do a little more maintenance with everything.

Living in Charlotte is living in disc golf mecca. So many courses here...world disc golf championships here a bunch too. Fun fact: most courses have a "bowl hole" or two.

I absolutely loved it in Asheville, where it was hilly. But if it's flat and an open field, like City Park in Nola, it's just okay. It's all about a good course. Woods and hills make it a much better experience.

I played once several years ago at ghetto George Ward Park in Birmingham. Somewhere around the 8th hole a black guy came stumbling out of the woods and asked me if I had any weed. Last time I ever played

10 years ago, when I moved to Asheville, NC, that was my weed hookup strategy. And sure enough, it worked like a charm. Most course have a bowl hole on hole 3 or 4. Sometimes, it's the only hole with a bench.

I found a Innova R-pro Dart 3400 putter disc.

What else should I (beginner) add to start? Any recommendations?

Dart is good. Add Discraft Buzzz. Later, get an Innova Leopard.

Because I'm not any good at real golf and my temperament isn't the best fit for golf. Add to the fact that I don't want to spend $25 just to stay pissed off for 3 hours.

I've started playing disc golf because I haven't found another hobby since giving up weekend warrioring it at softball tourneys.

I enjoy it. It's challenging and it's fun competition. Takes 1 hour or so through the woods.

Nashville has a couple nice courses, and we find some great ones when out traveling. I always pack enough to throw a round.

We end up pretty regularly in big, open spaces. Here's me hucking a Roadrunner across the Silverdome.

Lafreniere Park sucks. It's too bland and flat. Yes, I get it is NOLA area; i prefer driving up to Highland Park in BR. It's a much better course.

So one is a driver and the other a midrange?

Sorta. Buzzz is a mid. Leopard is barely into fairway driver territory.
