I'd man up fake some damn cookies and go introduce yourself.
They do probably last a long time, there’s that.
Wouldn’t you come off as not legit though?

I wait to catch them outdoors and introduce myself and then offer to lend a hand if they need help in the future.

Nothing. Mine brought me a small charcuterie board after they’d been moved in for a while and introduced themselves.

We moved from La to Az in Aug.
All of the neighbors came by and introduced themselves and gave us space while the moving was there.
A few days later when we were adjusted we all got together
We hosted a gumbo for them in November and new years dinner.
It seems once a month someone is doing something
I hike or play golf with several neighbors
It has honestly been wonderful.

Give them a few days to get settled and take a pie over there. Invite them to church.

Where in AZ?
We moved there for 30 years and returned home during Covid. Wish
I was still there.

What do you do and when? Who should reach out first?
Buy a dessert like a pie or cake and bring it to the neighbors within the first 3-4 days after they move in. Go as a couple and introduce yourselves.
DO NOT BAKE ANYTHING YOURSELF TO BRING TO THEM.

I kid. I have laughed at that pic entirely too often.

I don't talk to my neighbors. Don't even know their names.
No reason to.
No reason to.

When we moved my neighbor came over the next day apologizing for possibly keeping us awake in the middle of the night. He was shooting coyotes off of his back steps. I scolded him for not coming over then because I have a coyote recipe for them.
