Oh no. Survival instincts will kick in and you'll have roving bands of pirates cruising around like locusts.

Even if most die within a few weeks, that's a shite load of people still out there, desperate and motivated. They'll form tribes and start organizing.

They arent going to create anything, just consume and destroy.

Yep.

Of all the things I'd be worried about, the California-born barista coming up from Bozeman and stealing my shite is pretty close to the bottom.

maybe if the grid in the whole USA goes down but seriously tell me how that happens outside of emp attack and in that case the government is immediately on it and we are back up and running in some areas within 6 weeks.

if its not the whole US, the rest kicks in. and if its just the US are we not shipping in gas from mexico, oversees, canada?

some of yall are just throwing things out there.

hold on, most people have enough food in their house to last for 2-3 weeks if they ration big time. most people can already go 3-4 weeks fasting with no issues.

so as long you can boil water and can start a fire...you will be fine for 2 months or more.

so wtf scenerio are we in where we go that long without being able to have outside help???

I think most people are assuming full EMP, end of the world type scenario.

Maybe that was wrong, but that is where my head went.

If we are just talking about a hurricane, then yeah, most people will be fine. My elderly parents were without power for 5 weeks after Laura.

Some sort of massive solar flare that knocks out the grid worldwide?

I don't know, but the OP's premise is the power grid going down long-term. I have to assume worldwide or we'd get help from other countries.

Half the people on this board have probably lived through a week or two without power due to hurricanes. It sucks, but it's not the end of the world.

that was my thought too. and in that situation, there would 100% be violence in the country after a couple weeks, at least around where i grew up

i understand EMP, but even with emp we are assuming other countries wouldnt help, assuming it takes out whole grid and we cant get it back up etc

its just the scenerios are not realistic.

as far as me and my family in some crazy arse fricking scenerio where we are going to be on our own for 6monthes to a year......................im figuring a way to get enough gas and heading to mexico. i have enough cryto i could move around and sell easily to survive and thrive

or is this some scenerio where the whole worlds grid goes down?

some of you waste time with the most outlandish scenerios. but even if true...if the tribes of africa can survive...im pretty sure i can too with my advanced tech.

There'd be a few survive and rebuild but the population would be pretty damn small.
Most of us would be gone with a few months

well in that situation and the grid went down world wide for 6 months to a year for some reason....yea their would be violence, lots of death.

i dunno if me and my family would survive. I would say myself and many on this board would have better chance than 95% of people in this country.

but i dunno if we would survive or not. it would be hard as frick and i think like many places disease from mosquitos, infections etc would prolly be what picks us off, not starving.

unless we have some serious preppers here, I don't think anyone is really wasting their time for end of the world scenarios

Everyone will keep their cool for about a week or 2. By week 3, people will be really worried. By week 4, some will have totally given up. By week 6, all hell breaks loose.

This is a very glass half full timeline, people would be panicked within days. In the big cities especially the “elements that give us everything we love” about those cities would be shooting and looting within 72 hours.

Completely agree about all the internet tough guys, and preppers, the ones I know IRL may have supplies, guns and a plan but they’re all giant pussies whose kids are even softer, they’d be too busy putting bandaids on ouchies.

Deer lease in WestFeliciana is pretty bountiful. We don’t own it, but in an apocalypse situation, nobody would kick me off who wasn’t better armed and willful than me. There’s also about 500 head of really nice black angus on it.

It's going to he hard to filter through the LARPers to see who's legit to build my army.

If the grid is down in this scenario that has you feeling to Mexico I don’t think you’re crypto is going to hold much value

I have a list of local "preppers" without much defensive weaponry. I'll be ok.

When water is gone, medical care non existent, food sources dwindling, banking shut down... chaos will be swift and widespread.

Just losing convenience will be enough to destroy a third of the population but with water and food in short supply, even the most prepared will fight for their lives.

A CME or Carrington Event would be the most likely scenario I think, we barely missed one in 2012.

I'm fricked in England. I live way too close to London. All those people escaping the city will flood my area.

If I could beat the masses of London and get to my buddy's farm, I'd last a bit longer than most.
