Posts like this in insurance related threads is why I have zero faith this board knows what it's talking about when it comes to insurance.

Ain't that the truth...

Do you have uninsured motorist on your insurance policy?

quote:

§1295. Uninsured motorist coverage

The following provisions shall govern the issuance of uninsured motorist coverage in this state:

(1)(a)(i) No automobile liability insurance covering liability arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of any motor vehicle shall be delivered or issued for delivery in this state with respect to any motor vehicle designed for use on public highways and required to be registered in this state or as provided in this Section unless coverage is provided therein or supplemental thereto, in not less than the limits of bodily injury liability provided by the policy, under provisions filed with and approved by the commissioner of insurance, for the protection of persons insured thereunder who are legally entitled to recover nonpunitive damages from owners or operators of uninsured or underinsured motor vehicles because of bodily injury, sickness, or disease, including death resulting therefrom;

UM covers your medical bills. It doesn't have squat to do with your scratched bumper.

And your personal medical policy, you have medical insurance right?, will probably be primary anyway. If you have good medical coverage, you don't need UM.

My vision is great as long as its more than arms length away.

There are a couple other glaring errors on the report. Ive contacted the PD to get the errors corrected. Insurance agent and I have an appointment tomorrow.

Some states have UM coverage for property damage.

Doesn’t work like that. When a third party is liable for your injuries, watch how quickly major medical won’t cover the loss.

Now who’s showing their ignorance?
Did you know UM covers your passengers and you while riding in another auto? Some people have no clue.

I’mhaving a hard time of getting a picture of this in my head. If he turned too soon wouldn’t he have hit your rear bumper? Otherwise it would be closer to a head on?

I do. Oddly enough the police report said I had no insurance and that my car was towed. It also said I claimed that I turned to early and hit him. LOL. I think the officer may have been dislexic or just got confused when he wrote it.

You’ll never make this mistake again. Prepare the lube for your arse.
