Kind of hard to do that with a six cylinder even with glass packs. Sounds like a goddamn vibrator going down the street.

A trailer, or camper trailer is something you pull.

Everyone has their opinion so i will give you mine.
I had a 2013 F150 3.5 Ecoboost, i was talked into by a Car dealer (called himself my friend). I had zero problems the first 5 years i had the truck and i put 155,000 miles on it total. to be honest i loved the truck the first 5 years, i hauled my boat, my dads tractor and even hauled my 15 year old's 2001 F150 5-1/2 hrs from my uncles farm to my house in Southside AL. never felt sluggish pulling anything like my brother in laws 2013 5.0. Hauling in his truck seemed to require you to keep your foot in it more on the highway.
2019 rolls around and i'm driving home from work one night the trucks shifts into 2nd running 65 MPH turns sideways in the highway and slings me into a ditch. goes into the transmission shop for a gear position sensor that cost $750 to replace because it has that sensor built into the wiring harness that has to be replaced.
2020 comes on strong and i start losing power, takes a long time to get to highway speeds and no overtake power when you get to those speeds. Back in the shop i have a blown turbo that has to be replaced $1300. 2 months later the other side blows at another $1300. the last time i had it in the shop my total was going to be $2400 1 turbo and the engine was leaking coolant and oil. i had them put it back together, went and traded it in.
I now drive a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Trail Boss with 5.3 V8.

The new style has really grown on me. I think I want to get the Lariat 3.5L
Posted on 1/21/21 at 3:04 pm to LewDawg
It was a toss up for me between the XLT with the Luxury package or the base Lariat. Funny thing is no dealer is ordering the base Lariat. XLT with the 302A Package is what I got.

Well shite I just looked up that package and that’s all I really wanted. The LED lights and movie screen up front. Heated seats as well. Might as well save a few dollars

Jesus Christ, get yourself a GMC with a 5.3l engine like a damn adult.
I laughed when I read this. I've had three Trucks since 2001, all with 5.3's. I had one issue with oil leaking due to the cylinder deactivation on the 2009, but other than that, almost 400k miles with no trouble.

I’m looking between the same but I only want leather seats. I have no interest in a cloth truck seat getting all muddy but it doesn’t look like there’s any way to get leather in xlt.

What did you pay and what equipment package did you get? I’m looking at those right now, but I might hold out for the hybrid. I drive a shite ton and the mpg savings will add up.

Ask the mechanics
It's the V8 all day. More reliable. Lasts longer. Sounds better.
It is the greatest marketing reversal in automotive history for Ford to convince people a F-O-R-D produced twin turbo v6 was a better option than a V8.
They don't really get much better mileage than the V8 models from any of the manufacturers.

The XLT 302 A has led reflector headlights I believe (same as the 500a and 501a Lariat) and the XLT has regular halogen tail lights I believe, or atleast it doesn't have the LED ring around the tail lights as the 502a (and maybe some other Lariats do). Still a huge step up for an XLT coming with led DRL planks and led reflector lights, nonetheless. Can't wait to see what Morimoto comes out with for aftermarket for the 2021 body style for head lights. And the full led w/ bliss tail lights are easy enough to just buy from someone on a forum (even if you don't have blis). Either way, major step up for the XLT 302a.
And to the guy saying the 3.5L will blow the doors off of the 5.0L, maybe from the jump but the 5.0 is arguably just as fast (if not faster) in the long stretch. They both are ridiculously fast if you tune them though.

May wanna wait for more reviews to come out on the hybrid, I saw some videos of guys putting up comparable mpg's to the 3.5 and 5.0, they could have been off but idk. Especially with the PowerBoost in platinum with the 22" wheels.

Great looking trucks on the outside, but man the interiors of the chevys are just so plain. Even on the LTZs
Also, for those of y’all who were talking about it, what’s the difference between the XLT luxury package and the base lariat? will be in the market this summer so I’ve been paying extra close attention to these threads

After talking to dealers from San Antonio to Mobile, one thing I’ve noticed is most of the XLT sports don’t actually come with the towing package. Just the class IV hitch, which Ford says it doesn’t warranty past either 5 or 7k lbs towing if you don’t ha e one of the “towing packages.” I was able to get a good deal at Bayou Ford in Laplace. Mullinax has a huge selection across two states. Got a loaded STX I guess you’d call it, sticker was higher than some of the XLTs I was looking at.
Had to have space white. And I learned as long as they have the modem you have remote start via the FordPass app even if you don’t have it on the key fob.
Also, if you want leather in a XLT, just have Katskinz put in. Cheaper than getting leather from the factory anyway.

I put 235k miles on a 2004 F-150 w/the 4.6L V-8 then replaced it w/2019 F-150 LWB w/5.0 Coyote V-8 - first 11k miles I'm averaging just over 20 mpg in mixed city-highway miles - on the interstate I get 23+ mpg.
Why would you want the increased complexity and inherent risk of turbos? Get a naturally aspirated V-8 and forget the turbo 4 & 6 cylinder gimmicks that are only produced to meet some arbitrary EPA MPG target.
You're welcome.

Up until 2020 the XLT 302a High package was basically the 500a Lariat minus leather seats and maybe puddle lights and auto fold mirrors. I'm not sure about the 501 Lariat but the 502 Lariat was the big boy Lariat.
As for the 2021 differences and some insight this is a link to f150forum where some baw who worked at a factory or something up in Michigan was taking pictures a while back Ford Plant guy thread
Also here is some random ford dealer that lists out some specs f150 trim comparisons.
Im not OTBalling (yet) but the past few generation XLT's have been much better priced and you could add a lot of the stuff (albeit not all of the stuff from Lariat). But the new XLT's for 2021 are insanely more on the comfort side of things (atleast you can option them now) so idk its a tough call, but imo between the highest XLT optioned out and the lower Lariats I would get the XLT.

The 2.7L is the wrong answer. The other 2 are similar in power. The 3.5L will give you nearly its max torque from nearly idling up to redline, or you could have a cool sounding truck, I guess.
