I was raised by my grandparents and my grandfather being a bricklayer would cuss every kind of cuss word imaginable… but I’ve never heard him cuss in the home, or in public outside of work or talking with the men.
He called it acting white… which now days I see what he means.

It's the same reason people get triggered when you explain that marijuana use can be addictive: people want to live their lives a certain way and sometimes the way others live their lives interferes with that. Sometimes it's that they are taking their desire for how they live their life to and extreme, sometimes it's that those who are interfering are doing so on purpose, but most of the time it's likely some combination of both.

My Dad never cursed around his kids, we never cursed around him.
I’ve been the same way with my kids.
I was a professional mariner for a while, I can curse really well.
Now I have just about stopped.
I want to have the discipline over myself.
