Girls do put emphasis on a lot of dumb things, height usually isn't one of them.
It's usually dumb social/personality traits and who is the most fun to hang out with for short periods of time. Fast forward 10 years, that goes away, and boom divorce.

Shortness is an indication of less testosterone. Perhaps it makes them look more feminine and makes them feel less protected compared to a taller guy.
