Meh, you must not have been here long.

I made it from 59/12 yesterday after work to 8 miles down lee rd. In like 20 minutes.

Even stopped at artigues ans got a bottle of whiskey.

There are ways to get around, check out a map.

I live almost to Folsom and make it to to work near the Causeway in less than half an hour in the traffic. But, much like the schools, if you come from a bigger place I think you can appreciate that It's not so bad.

New Orleans is good to visit, that's it. There is absolutely no point to living in New Orleans. I live in Metairie, and I can get to most places in New Orleans faster than people that live in New Orleans

Meh, when I lived Uptown, I basically stayed Uptown, I could walk to wherever I wanted faster than you could get in the city.

you guys pretty much bag on every city in ur state. Why such the hate?

What are the biggest beefs with these cities?

Every state has some shitholes, but for christs sake, many of you La residents shite on every city in the state.

Except for the Mandeville/Madisonville/Covington(Northshore) area and a few spots in N.O.,B.R., La is a shithole. Litter, decay, crime and lack of amenities. You know how many states have cute small towns that are well-kempt? Besides the Northshore I mentioned, La has none. Of course people will claim I'm wrong, but that's because they don't know better and think a new subdivision with a higher end chain restaurant qualifies as nice.

This is the correct answer. Learn back roads or enjoy your time in traffic.

The only things LA has on TX are unique culture (and that's only in two areas) and fishing.

Well that and you also have the small town crowd that will never consider moving 5 miles away from their family.

Haha, I guess that's true as my mom lives just over two miles away (no pics...I'm old and she is ancient). That being said, I have traveled quite a bit of the world and lived in over a dozen other states...and yet here I am, back in Covington. I must say, I enjoyed growing up here, and It's a great place to raise a family imho.

Zachary has the best school district in the state and is now majority black.

And there are many towns full of white people in Louisiana that I wouldn't step a foot in. I know many of us think we are always superior in etiquette, intellect and rationale but that's the biggest lie ever told.

Most of Texas is considered the Southwest (excluding East Texas) ... it's not generally considered the "South" as we know it.
