This thread is really exposing who the smooth brains are.

Like 95% of white women between the ages of 8 and 60 would consider themselves swifties.

Overexposure.

The only person in the news more than her is possibly Trump.

And she isn't doing anything newsworthy every day.

There's been plenty of big/famous/popular singers and none have had the media attention she has. It's never ending and frankly inescapable. Hell, look at how many threads get started here.

*I don't hate her. Simply do not care about her, at all, yet she is seemingly being promoted by every media outlet on the planet.

Sure. Because why else would you care to share your thoughts about her on page 13 of a thread for which she is the topic.

This is the crux of the issue for many on this board. It’s full of a bunch of old white guys who hate that there are things, such as music, not made with them in mind (or that were made after 1980).

No, idiot, the guy was responding to someone who wrote that she was the biggest pop star of all time. He correctly, in my opinion, pointed out that she is the biggest currently, but not of all time.

Of course, it depends on how you are measuring it. Gross sales? Probably Taylor Swift. Ratio of success compare to contemporaries? Probably the Beatles, or Elvis.

Popularity and worldwide fame and recognition? It's definitely Swift.

A fair comparison would account for a smaller global human population and the fact that much of the globe was so backwards they were hunter gatherers and hardly concerned with pop music. In the world that was exposed to pop music, the Beatles were probably bigger than Swift.

In terms of worldwide fame Michael Jackson probably takes the cake.

The only act even close to the Beatles would be Micheal Jackson.

I should have clarified. I agree that the exposure has reached oversaturation, and through no fault of her own. You and others are perfectly fair to point that out.

My issue comes from people who say that she isn't a good musician or doesn't have talent. This is coming from a place of either ignorance or belligerence. No matter what you think of her exposure or political views, you have to.be either a fool or deaf to not think that she is a very accomplished/talented musician and has great songwriting chops.

The mass influx of women & nerds following the nfl is worse than swifty.

I understand some might not like her but she’s not being an attention whore like mahomes family.

13 pages of why we hate someone that evidently was born with God given talent and over the years has learned how to play the system. I’m not old enough for the Beatles, but I’m old enough to remember MJ and with social media being what it is, she’s getting pretty close to him. I don’t believe for a second her and Travis will end up living a happily married life but for the time being it is what it is.

Her talent isn't on the level of MJ.

If only MJ had the same advantages that many singers had today back then.

Elvis never traveled out of the country and yet was still a mega star in the world.

The question shouldn't be about sales but is she as talented as Elvis, MJ or the Beatles?

Taylor Swift is only one who can stop this overexposure by leaving the industry for good.
