I'm a cargo fan but frick that. I don't need any more damage to my knees or running the risk of denting a toddler's head.

I would like to return to the days where you pay by apparently reaching into your pocket and flipping some unknown coin to a bartender, or slapping down a burlap bag of coins of unknown value.

In Mexico the 20 Peso coin is quite handy and used a bunch. Why don't we use them here more?
Are you asking why we don't use Pesos more at Walgreens? I want to make sure before I make a sarcastic comment. I don't want to look silly if I'm mistaken.

Cause George Washington is on the bill. You'd have to bump someone else off a bill. No president wants a coin.

But seriously, it's just as easy as carrying change in your pockets.
I don't carry change because carrying change sucks arse. In fact, I would go one further in opposition to your $1 coins and say that they should get rid of change all together.

I didn't realize Louis CK posted on this site.

I don't know the answer to your question, but your screenname is fricking retarded. First name, last initial? You are one uncreative piece of garbage.

Because then strip clubs would be the modern version of royalty throwing charity to peasants with the jingling of the coins as they strike the ground while the peasants sprawl on the ground scraping for all they can grab.

Ever carried 20 silver dollars in your pocket? They are also mistaken for quarters

$1 coins do make great poker chips though. I give you that.

We need to keep paper money but as far as the dollar bill is concerned we need to make it a coin.
quote:
A dollar bill costs about 5.7 cents to print, and lasts about 22 months on average. A dollar coin costs about 10 cents to mint, and lasts about 30 years.

I'm calling bullshite on that number. I have 8 $1 bills in my wallet right now, and the newest one is from 2006.
ETA: I'm aware that there is a very small possibility that the average is less than two years and the random 8 bills I have are all much older. But I'm just incredibly skeptical of that.

Kinda like the Euro. The smallest bill they have is 5 Euro... coins go up to 2 Euro.
I lived in Italy for a couple of years and the only drawback I found was that you develop a mindset of "it's just pocket change" and you spend the shite out of it.
