Black Owned

LGBTQ Owned
Veteran Owned
Worked Owned
Minority Owned
Indigenous Owned
Immigrant Owned

Businesses are allowed to advertise where a consumer's money will be going.

You left one out. That's the point, you fricking idiot.

Rant - Saw an article on KPLC. How do the people writing these articles not see how divisive this is? What does it matter your race if you have a business that provides a good product at a good price with good service?

I've seen there are also shop only black business days. Isn't that racist? Is your business so weak and unsuccessful that you would risk losing a huge customer base just to appease another base?

Even Amazon has notes on product pages that the business is minority owned. So that's supposed to make me buy your product?

I would hope in the 21st century that there are fewer of these narrow-viewed individuals out there.
The income gap between Black and White households has remained stubbornly persistent since 1960. Black families holding roughly 60 cents for every dollar of White family income, showing minimal long-term progress. While the gap narrowed between 1960 and 1980, it has largely stagnated or slightly widened over the last four decades.

In 1967, Black households had 58 cents for every dollar of White household income. By 1981, the median family income for Blacks was $13,266 compared to $23,517 for Whites.

In 2021, Black households had only 62 cents for every dollar of White household income.

Between 1970 and 2018, the absolute dollar difference in median income grew from roughly $23,700 to $33,000.

The wealth gap is significantly wider than the income gap. In 2019, Black Americans held only 18 cents for every dollar of wealth of non-Black Americans, up from 12 cents in 1962.

At the current rate of progress, it is estimated that it would take over 500 years for Black households to reach income parity with White households.

Question….would you have a problem if a business touted itself as “veteran owned?”

since when does the color of a veteran’s skin matter? weird rebuttal.

Or for that matter, “locally” owned?

Locally owned is fine, why wouldn't it be?

I studiously avoid anything purposefully labeled women, black, or LGBT owned.

There's a difference in highlighting geography vs immutable traits that are supposed to be "equal" until they want special treatment.

Please spare me your obtuseness. If someone tried a white business day or month they would be on every news channel 24/7 being called Nazis accompanied by riots and eventually burned down.
It was the Marxist plan or race communism as some say. Every race is able to celebrate itself and be helped but whites.
And white people are THE minority in this world.
Dangerously low percentage.

Households... families.

Can you tell the class another significant difference between black and white households and families? Something that very well may explain most if not all of this "gap"?

Is there a reason for this that is not based on skin tone? Wealth gap outpacing the income gap leads me to believe that culturally speaking, blacks and whites don't view nor use money the same way. This isn't racism, this is a variance in values.

Remember the "it's ok to be white" trend and the backlash that came from those five little simple words? I do.

I really enjoy the people talking about black owned restaurants. I go to a restaurant because the food is good I could care less who the owner is, I mean really...

This reminds me, a few months ago I was planning to take the family to a Caribbean restaurant until I went to their website to look at the menu and they mentioned how it was black owned. I changed course and went somewhere else. I don't understand how saying that can help business. I wouldn't even think most black people care if it's black owned or not.

Because liberals are racist and believe all black people are not smart enough to think for themselves so they get to play savior and make themselves feel better
