Name one “nice” suburb that is not in a flat, traffic ridden, humid with a nasty strip center nearby. Sorry, the topography and weather (especially since it is a concrete flood plain) render it a shithole.
that was my biggest issue with texas. it's just ugly.

Texas is too liberal and not enough red arse for me anymore.

Unfortunately I think Texas will become a purple state soon too.

Well next time you go to San Antonio, definitely stay away from the Riverwalk. That’s just tourist bait through and through.
If you still liked the riverwalk vibe though, switch over to The Pearl. It’s still got an outdoorsy party vibe similar to the riverwalk, but without being packed in tight like a can of sardines. And the restaurants there actually have good food, rather than the cheap, frozen dinners shipped in from a warehouse that you pay an 800% markup on at the riverwalk.

No shite. Any state that requires you to get a building permit when you are in unincorporated land is a nanny state.

Just curious, how does restricting freedom give you more freedom?
Name the states that have legalized weed?
Ok, those same states people are fleeing because of overburdensome government, and thus fleeing to Texas.
I understand that "weed being illegal" is not more freedom, however, it's more than just coincidence that when a state legalizes weed, it has also become very liberal, and thus LESS PERSONAL FREEDOMS, and more government.
Thus the notion, if are such a slave to weed that you would allow liberalism to infect your state, why not move to an already liberal state that let's you smoke pot in exchange for more government?

Will change as more states legalize it.
You always will have a contingency of slackers who want to do nothing but smoke weed, the more legalized the trade is, the less they'll congregate.

Oklahoma is the reddest state and also has the highest percentage of medical marijuana card holders in the US. 10% of the state has a card.
No vehicle inspections, no building permits outside of city limits, no licensing trailers unless it's commercial, etc.
Oklahoma is the land of the free.

It's always been attractive to freedom loving people. It's just now the non freedom loving people are moving there because they also want to avoid pay for taxes they vote for every election.

Montgomery Cnty. All the benefits of rural area plus the Woodlands without the tarded property taxes.

Far north DFW
We live about 30 miles North East of Downtown and love it
no crime, great schools, good people, access to everything you need, no state income tax but everything is new and clean
I lived in Houston for 10 years and prefer DFW but I'm at a different stage in life (single in Houston/ domesticated in DFW)

That’s the point. The topography in N. GA looks alot like NC. OP will find nothing remotely close to this in TX plus he will pay more in sales tax, home and auto insurance and property tax will surpass any state income tax he now pays.
