You're too stupid to even get what I'm saying. Public school doing work apparently.

Public schools are very good here. There's no reason to send kids to private.

You're a douche. I don't know how else to say it. Glad you are not in Louisiana any longer. No room for wannabe elitist douches in this state.

Im sure you just had no friends in LA and your family thinks you are the worst so you had no choice but to leave. If you acted anything like you do on the internet, Im sure you got beat up often. Hopefully the other "hippies" in CO are treating you nicer.

It most definitely happens other places, especially in the south. However, after having lived in Metairie, Mandeville and West Monroe, it seems to be amplified in Louisiana.

Pew Research says that the South is actually less than the MidWest and Eastern US.

Only the Pacific West is less "rooted" than the South.

quote:

The Midwest is the most rooted region: 46% of adult residents there say they have spent their entire life in one community. The least rooted is the West, where only 30% of adult residents have stayed in their hometown. Residents of the South (36%) and East (38%) fall in between.

I'd like to see some numbers before I accept it as fact. I understand that the top third are probably similar, but what about the bottom two thirds?
What kind of numbers? Catholic school test scores are private I believe.

But I can show you test scores and rankings to compare New Orleans area public schools to Dallas/Houston area.

The public high school I would have had to go to in Louisiana was John Ehret High School. Here are their scores based on US News school rankings:

John Ehret High School:

Unranked
Graduation rate: 74%
College readiness index: 7.3
AP tested: 29%
AP passed: 1%
Mathematics proficiency:
53%
English proficiency: 65%

McKinney Boyd High School:

Ranked #85 in Texas, #722 nationally. Silver medal school.
Graduation rate: 98%
College readiness index: 49.9
AP tested: 62%
AP passed: 74%
Mathematics proficiency: 89%
English proficiency: 90%

Juneau in particular, but it's a fairly wealthy community.

Ehret of all places vs McKinney Boyd?

What a fair comparison.

Just take the young kids and move them somewhere else if you are unhappy - it is likely that the kids will pick up on your resentment and have the same feelings.
Everyone making these threads about where to live, etc pretend they have literal shackles tied to them. If you don't like it, then find a way to move. You can always fly back for football season and you will likely find better or cheaper schools wherever else you go.

Jesus christ no wonder why you can only last 3 fricking minutes with your wife.

We were talking about High Schools and my comment in regards to sending my kids to public ISD instead of a NOLA Private school.

I posted the average tax bills for those ISD's and the cost of tuition for a NOLA Private School.

You are sitting here trying to frame another discussion while missing the entirety of mine.

While not true, if a home valuation stayed the same for the 4 years you go to HS (9-12), the price paid in property taxes is around 32k give or take.

The cost to go to Brother Martin for 4 years is 40k. Plus you fail to add in the cost of state income tax which Texans don't pay.

So depending on what you make, you can see that figure for private schooling + state income tax, almost double the Texas cost.

No, we weren't. Understanding what you're talking about will go a long way to not being a miserable cocksucker on a message board.

The high school I went to in Houston has very similar numbers to McKinney Boyd. If I went to public school in Louisiana, it would have been Ehret. The public school I went to when we moved to Houston had these numbers:

#118 in Texas, #1003 nationally. Silver medal School.
Graduation rate: 97%
College readiness index: 44.1
AP tested: 51%
AP passed: 81%
Mathematics proficiency: 93%
English proficiency: 93%

You are one insufferable retard. I am glad Pecker gives you shite almost daily lmao.

You chose to interject yourself into a conversation you clearly didn't read enough times.
