Vyvanse is approved for binge eating disorder.

OP, does your wife have a history of abusing medications? Does she have an addictive personality ? If the answer to those questions is 'no' then you have absolutely nothing to fear except that she may not actually need it.

edit: oh and her possibly diminished sex drive might destroy your marriage, that's actually a huge issue esp if you aren't getting much to begin with. on the flip it might enhance her sex drive. Won't know till you try

I know a girl that popped adderall all day.. I think it was prescribed to her from a doctor. I could always tell when she popped too many. She was a fricking nut job

she then turned to meth and lost some teeth and became a straight up junkie. It was sad to watch her spiral down to a worthless piece of garbage.

So you know my ex wife. How is she these days?

I just wanted to commend you on taking the time to do research. Your contributions to the field are invaluable.

Are you suggesting that people shouldn't do their own research when a doctor prescribes pharmaceuticals?

Some of you are dumb as dog shite

Not only let her take it, encourage it.

You will always have a clean house and a horny wife.

I hope she goes easy on the dosage. Have an occasional coworker who comes to work dosed and just can't stop talking. Not just a little. Like a methed out 13 year old teenager for more than a hour at a time

Pros:
She’ll get way more stuff done. (At first)
Makes you feel like Superman (until it wears off)
Increased sex drive.

Cons:
Drug addiction. It’s very addictive, and tolerance builds fast- causing the need to supplement/ up the dosage.
Terrible mood swings/increased anxiety and aggravation. This cannot be overstated.

I was on it for a few years. It’s a roller coaster. And it’s unsustainable. In the end, the negatives will greatly outweigh the positives. If they didn’t- I’d still be on it. If she’s made it this far in life without it- she clearly doesn’t need it.

Stand by. Will cause her to lose a bunch of weight, increase energy levels, since it’s basically legalized meth. Next thing you know, you will be Jody’d.

I can confirm this...just kidding.

At 37...why does it matter? Is she going back to school?

frick these doctors. A 37 year old woman doesn’t have ADHD, she needs a hobby.

Big pharma can’t sell opioids anymore so they are onto ADHD and Anxiety meds.

Quite the opposite. I’m merely disappointed he didn’t publish either the risks or the benefits of his findings or how they apply to her symptoms in this unique scenario.

He had a very nuanced position the entire time and shared personal experiences, and to simplify the stance to “hawking” would be a travesty at best.

Overreacting. Depending on the dosage she’ll probably just be really annoying.

My wife talks too much as it is. I can’t imagine her on adderall.
