There's history between Chris Rock and Jada as well.
During the #OscarsSoWhite boycott she said she wasn't going and Chris said that it's not a boycott if youre not invited
Plus will has been publicly cucked and Jada has gotten a ton of flak recently. He flipped out after a few tough years

So in 35+ years he arguably slapped a reporter.
I have a hard time believing this is legit. They have kids, all that. He's going to just go up there and slap the guy without knowing the potential consequences? I don't see it.
There are too many variables involved that would suggest otherwise.
I don't care how much money either party has, why would they just throw hands on national tv?
He was laughing, then 10 seconds later starts hollering to not say Jada's name then he gets on stage, slaps the host, not punch him (since he's so incensed) then goes off stage, cries.
They could've easily talked to Chris Rock backstage if they were that upset about it.

what....thats the nice one
He said “What? That’s a nice one” showing some awkwardness when JPS started to stare him down after the joke.
quote:
Rock was subletly putting attention on Jada screwing other dudes and Smith became unhinged.
That’s a stretch and in no way does a joke about GI Jane II and alopecia have any connotation to her cheating on him.

Because his initial instinct was to laugh it off but then he saw how upset his wife was and it flipped a switch inside him. Instant rage.
It wasn't the G.I. Jane joke that bothered him the most. It's a poor joke and a little offensive considering her condition. But then Chris says "that was a nice one, ok" which is clearly in reference to Will and Jada's marital issues.

I heard the insiders from the ringer say it was because he saw jadas reaction on the big screen but your version makes sense too - maybe even more sense

I appreciate that but I saw it myself.

I’d say the majority of the population can’t throw a proper punch. Will throwing a shitty open face slap as a spur of the moment thing seems real to me.
Except Will Smith spent hundreds of hours in an actual boxing ring learning to throw a proper punch and the tricks of the sweet science in the making of “Ali” by some of the best boxing trainer’s in the world.
quote:
Darrell Foster, professional boxing trainer, continued: “When I teach an actor to fight, we fight for real. I explain that to film teams at the beginning. That’s the only way to get this thing done. You have to bring the reality of the fight world into the imaginary film world.”

They’ve been slowly introducing more “controversy” over time.
And nominating films that the vast majority of audiences don't see. And enforcing weird race and gender quotas. That's driving away more viewers than bitch slaps will gain.

Why did they wait until the last hour?
Because if it happened too early in the show people would’ve known it was fake.
Hey guys, let's turn the whole night into a clown show right before the big awards. No one will buy it if we do it before Best Original Score.

If it was staged he wouldn’t have dropped the F bombs afterwards forcing the censors to freeze it. He would’ve just said mouth, or ‘damn mouth’

I love when this board morphs from 6’5 alpha ballers to a gaggle of cosmo sipping housewives right before my eyes

Many of you fail to see the risk involved with staging a publicity stunt like this during the current political/racial climate.
For the Academy, if this came out it was fake the entire black community would go ape shite and their narrative would be that the Oscars exploited two black men to further racial stereotypes. There would be mass protests and boycotts. Corporate sponsors would pull their ads because of the uproar. Do you dumb asses really think the Academy wants the entire country viewing them as racists?
For Smith and Rock, the black community would shun both and the narrative would be that both are Uncle Toms because they helped the white man bring down the black community. Do you dumb asses really think either would be okay with doing something that would obviously jeopardize their popularity and careers?
The risk is too great for very little, if any, reward.

Will Smith is a homosexual. His wife is a lesbian. They are in an open marriage.
