Ok then, how many people watched the Oscars this year? Last?

Was it even close to the "most watched televised shows"?

I don't know how you could miss the point any more than you have.

Let's try and scale it back to you:

To THESE PEOPLE, aka People in hollywood, this is the most prestigious event of the year. Many people are watching live. This is the culmination of their year and their careers. All of the most famous people and their peers are in the audience. They are all rich. They are all wearing tuxedos and ballgowns. They aren't MMA Fighters, they are actors and directors.

Rock is unsure of how to proceed. He's in disbelief. He's smiling as a coping mechanism to try to process if Will Smith really just walked up and hit him at the most prestigious annual film event in history.

Why the smirk on Will Smith’s face?

So all of those others were in on it too, or you think that it was just Rock and Smith and the others just fell for it?
I could really go either way, but I can't get passed why Either of them would agree to doing this. It's so bizarre either way

Oh for Christ’s sake. Can you stop with the you’re the smartest guy in room routine over a fricking Oscars conversation?

I’m being serious. Two people running up and getting in the middle of it doesn’t, in and of itself, prove that it wasn’t fake.

Wikipedia most watched broadcasts

Find one "The Oscars"/Academy Awards broadcast here.

It is not "one of the most watched live televised" broadcasts ever, its not even in the realm.

Nice goal post move because you thought streams or podcasts were the same thing as a live broadcast

I honestly expected him to go with "I can watch youtube on my TV therefore it is 'televised'"

I’ve watched several of them. I’ve never said that all of the audience was in on the set up.

watching slowmo videos from another angle like the one Clay Travis posted

I’ll look for it. I saw one this morning from a Clay Travis tweet. Maybe there’s another I haven’t seen.

the fact that nothing but negative has come out of this for both of them, and neither have come out and said a thing

Negative for Will Smith? Ha. For the last many months he’s been a joke as a husband. Now after last night he’s receiving praise as a good husband for fighting for his wife.

I answered this way back in the thread. He smirked like he thought he did something.

Rock smiled because he was in such disbelief of what had happened. I've had that exact reaction to uncomfortable situations many times, and you're lying if you say you haven't as well.

I am blown away by the fake crowd who apparently have no critical thinking or deductive reasoning skills. From your comments I am wondering how some of you have ever convinced employers to hire you.

It’s like some of these people have zero social skills or have never been in a situation like this (minus the part of it being on TV )

Everything happened so fast for everyone involved, and we’ve turned it into 65+ pages of over analyzing the shite, and people trying to shoehorn opinions as facts. It’s insane

Obtuse seems to be the buzzword in here

Look, obviously it looks like Big Willy Style blew a gasket and went full Everybody Hates Chris.

All I'm saying it could equally be a work. Why? Who knows, tons of angles.

It could be either scenario. In 2022 blindly believing anything should get the grief, not people that question things presented to them.

After the past 2 years of disinformation from the media and all involved, all I'm saying is not to take anything you are shown as gospel.

These same people told you that Jan 6th was an insurrection

Honestly, Rock’s reaction is what makes me think that it was more likely real than not.

Me too, if all I saw the slap, that looked fake as shite. But that reaction was a little too real for me.

Then the more you think about it, faking that scene makes even less sense.

Dude plays Muhammad Ali and had pro boxing training for the role and only manages a weak slap?

He still maintains that training and trains hard. Dude is pretty built, and knows how to throw a punch.

How about the fact that instead of taking him away or off stage that Will Smith was getting consoled, and he was crying, after he was the perpetrator

Since when in history has any type of assault been treated as the perp needed to be consoled?

I don’t keep up with actors names much , probably can’t put a name with a face on more than 10 current ones. That being said, I thought they were talking about “the rock”- Johnson. I was going dang!, I gotta see that!
