They could/should have truncated executive order power by forcing it to be introduced and/or voted on by Congress on a set timeline given their intent to be used when congress couldn’t move fast enough.

Leaving out the the bit about a well regulated militia in the second amendment would have kept things a lot more clear.
Should have just said: “Being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Article 1, Section 8
To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;
To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;
10 USC Ch. 12: THE MILITIA
§246. Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

The Electoral College, which allows for minority rule. The only democracy in the world with such a backasswards system.

The commerce clause is probably the most damaging words written, the Feds use that for the MAJORITY of their control over the states.
The general welfare clause is a close second.

Use simple declarative sentences in writing the second amendment.

Not addressing the slavery situation while drafting the constitution was a horrendous mistake that cost literal rivers of blood
Should have abolished slavery at the time of the drafting of the document, reimbursed slave owners, and sent the slaves back to their homeland for their own good.
Many wanted to abolish slavery, and we all would have been better off had they done that, but to form the union, they had to concede that point. They knew the issue was not going away and had the potential to tear the country apart, I think they just kicked the can down the road in hopes that it could be dealt with at a later time without tearing the country apart. First, form the union, then perfect it.

True. Would be an even better thing if more people understood that it's not and why that is a good thing.

Be glad we aren't. Democracies don't have petty little things like constitutions to protect minorities.
Democracy is evil, and the worst form of governance available.

Yeah, someone hasn’t read the “Republican form of government” part of the Constitution.
I'm pretty sure that poster hates the constitution and wishes we had a democracy.
