No, it wouldn’t with the military in its current form.
The amount of training that goes into one soldier these days is insanely expensive if guys aren’t going to be getting retained until the end of the war or X years, not just one year of training and one year in country.

Sure, it would work. And I know first hand how it would work.
I was there. I was drafted as was most of the guys I served with.
If there was a draft the young men of today would man up an do what young men have done all through history.

Well, since Gen Z is nothing but a bunch of fragile, nonbianary trannies, all we need to do is remind them that dick removals and vagina adds are free, and fully covered for service members, and we would have nothing but lines and lines of purple haired, nose pierced snowflakes waiting to sign on the dotted line.

I mean other countries have mandatory service and you dont see any combat whatsoever.
I have friends that did the national guard, they never saw any action and they got money for school.
Im not saying mandatory service hiking the hindus searching for osmama bin laden.

And there is 2 points to make. 1) There was a higher % of black guys around me at all times than the % of black in population & 2) this was '69-'70-'71. Black people still had not gotten the equal position in society yet.
The people of today don't really know what racism is. I got to see it first hand.

With the level of distrust in the government and how diverse in values and political ideology we are as a nation, it would have to take something no one could say no to. Like we were at risk of a full scale annihilation.

after 9/11 enlistments went through the ceiling, couple an event like that with the recession that usually coincides, it works, I'm starting to think mandatory mil service for two years upon reaching 18 should be instated

I would support that. Not mandatory military service.
If our country was more like Switzerland or Mexico or Uruguay (isolationist) then yes bring on the mandatory military service. It would be a good thing.

Hitler was never trying to cleanse the world. Germany didn’t even have a navy. Our WW2 vets were sold a bucket of lies. At some point the reason we fought went from protecting the world from hitler (who was never gonna take the world over) to going in there to save the Jews from hitler. If our WW2 vets knew that they probably would have tried to avoid service too lol.
