No, we wouldn’t. Not for this God forsaken country.

Hitler was never trying to cleanse the world. Germany didn’t even have a navy. Our WW2 vets were sold a bucket of lies. At some point the reason we fought went from protecting the world from hitler (who was never gonna take the world over) to going in there to save the Jews from hitler. If our WW2 vets knew that they probably would have tried to avoid service too lol.

So Hitler didn't join forces with Japan who had a strong Navy and declare war on the US as soon as they hit Pearl Harbor?

Also, the "Hitler wasn't all that bad" argument is a weird hill to die on.

Hitler was terrible, but we were sold a bucket of lies to take our country from isolationist to policing the world, and it never stopped. We have been fighting non stop wars ever since

I guess all those U-Boats and the Bismarck were just figments then.

No. The people on here boasting that the younger generations need to be conscripted are the same ones who would keep their kids and grandkids from being sent into battle

We weren't sold anything. We were attacked by the Japanese and then Hitler declared war on the US. Were we not supposed to react to these offenses?

This art is true and has been the real downfall of this country.

But to say that we should have or even could have sat out of WW2 is a dumb revisionist take. We were attacked and forced into the war.

Well said. Patriotism barely exists in people under 30. The few patriots left are patriotic for a country that no longer even exists. America is far more of an economic construct at this point than a nation.

I do a lot of stuff with former Vietnam POWs and some AF reserve squadrons, the old dudes haven't given up and the young guys give me some hope

This should be the main point people take from this thread. Anybody under 30 who loves America is not going to fight for it in a foreign land unless they are getting benefits from it. Schooling, work, etc.

Now if America were on the defense obviously we would defend it.

Get off the internet and go meet some real people boomer. There’s still plenty of patriots out there.

I already fund a worthless government, I sure as hell am not going to fight for it. This country is beyond saving, they've made certain of that.

the conscriptees of the Vietnam war resulted in a composite of the most educated military force in our history, a lot of the volunteers over the last gen did it because they had no other options

If the South is attacked, sure let’s fight. If CA, NY or another piece of shite blue state, they can go frick themselves.
