According to the last earnings report, paid US WWEN subscriptions dropped under a million. They've still got those big tv deals though so they'll be fine.

I HATE suicide dives
So contrived, so overused, so telegraphed
Not to mention they are used like 90% of the time to go to commercial

Maybe I'm the exception but I rarely watched wrestling in the post-attitude era up until the Network went live. We watch all of the PPVs which bakes in the need to watch the shows. No matter the television deals if that subscriber number drops under 500k Wall Street will punish them severely. They've already cut back on house shows (we were part of those fall weekends that had shows canceled.) Their show circuit has regressed back to the post-attitude recession.
Revisiting the broadcast contracts. Lower viewership leads to lower ad revenues which eventually leads to cancellations. In this case Smackdown gets bumped to FS1 (perhaps taking over the slot competing with AEW/bumping NXT to Tues or Thur.) They've got wiggle room but the rope is slowly getting tighter.
Since the rumor came out I keeping thinking the Amazon PPV deal/right of first refusal (if the family sells it) could easily happen. The McMahon line goes to the grave with Vince. It was brought up elsewhere but I think it is practical for NXT to be spun off to the Levesque family with the rest going to Amazon. (It happens all the time in the corporate world.) Let's say they sell the company for $800m. Shane gets his $400m and Steph gets her $400m with a chunk of that going back to Bezos for NXT. A wrestling landscape of NXT, AEW, and a lean WWE would be a good reversion to the old WWF/AWA/WCW (NWA) days.

The wrestling landscape of WWE/NXT, AEW, & the cross promotion of ROH, NJPW, NWA, not to mention MLW of all promotions going to Showtime makes a pretty good time to buy.
