Man the first half of that PPV was fricking awesome and it completely fell off a cliff starting with AJ/Bryan, which is a weird sentence to type.
My favorite moment of the second half of the show...
I actually really liked the Nia choice at 30. Refreshing to see WWE let the guys hit the women and put them on equal footing. That’s a bold choice this day and age. Kudos to WWE. Pretty outspoken against them, but that’s actually putting your money where your mouth is and putting the women on equal footing.

Don’t particularly care for the objectifying of women creeping back in personally. Not that I’m all against women being able to objectify themselves, but it’s pretty dumb to preach what WWE preaches and do that type of stuff. I also have a hard time thinking those women would want to do angles like that. They’ve worked too hard to shed that label. Even if they didn’t particularly care, the fact their peers probably would is enough for them to prefer it not happen. At the very least, if you’re going to put women in sexual situations, you have to do the same with the men, imo at least.
Letting Nia compete with men is a whole different story. This is a publicly traded company in a PC world. That took some balls.

Honestly between the men actually going after Nia combined with some of the more ‘adult’ stuff like Bliss being walked in on without her top and Rose being half naked in a hotel, there have been some shades of the Attitude era creeping around.

WWE's tired of ratings tanking... gotta do something to get those numbers up
but yes a "I'm going to ruin their marriage" storyline... a male assistant walking in on a topless female wrestler... and then a female wrestler taking a superkick and 2 finishing moves from male wrestlers is bold in today's world for a public company

Rose being half naked in a hotel,
She was wearing about as much clothing as she normally does in the ring.

Overall I thought it was a solid PPV.
I was really hoping to see Charlotte with the women's rumble because I think she and Ronda could put on a 5 star match at WrestleMania.
Otherwise, the show went about as I expected it to.
WWE has really turned it up over the last few months, which has made their programming much more entertaining.
Seth Rollins belongs in one of the main events at WrestleMania. Dude has excellent matches with almost everyone he gets into the ring with.
Not sure where they go with Finn Balor after last night. He was great. I think everyone is tired of part-time Brock being the champ. I don't understand why Vince continues with him as his champ...
I've gotta give the women a ton of credit. They just keep getting better and better - Ronda, Charlotte, Becky, Sasha, Asuka... are all really good performers, good athletes and almost all of their matches are solid. Throw in Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax and the women's divisions are LOADED.
I will say this, Charlotte Flair is as good as anyone on either roster - male or female, and Ronda Rousey is getting there.

They screwed themselves purely from a booking standpoint when they decided to become so corporate. WWE was so much better when it was like 3 guys calling all the shots.

WWE is and has always been 1 guy calling the shots.

Everything flows through Vince yes, but back then you didn't have a team of Holywood writers on the creative commmittee nor did the talent have word-for-word scripted promos.
The homogenization is what is driving fans away from the product.

Business was much better when women weren't "wrestling." Sable and Debra had an evening gown match on the 5/10/99 Raw and it did a 6.8. Scarlett Bourdeaux is in TNA and she's way more popular now because of her smokeshow segments then she ever was in ROH.
I have no problem with Nia competing against men since she weighs more than most of them on the roster.

They were already public when Mae Young gave birth to a hand.

As long as there's no legitimate competition and they keep turning a profit then there's really no reason to change things.
