Not sure. All my cars are custom ordered by my handler. Good luck.

It's 2023. Find a better dealer and order the vehicle you want. I've had my last few vehicles shipped from Louisiana because that's where I've found the best Ram dealer.

Dealership tells you someone is interested in buying this vehicle this weekend.

I don’t believe them, and I’d tell them so.

I’ll give you X amount, or I walk off the lot and find another car somewhere else.

I’m not “negotiating” at a car dealership.

I am in HTX. That is a pre-covid play. Everyone here wants $5-7K over sticker right now. Lexus is only dealer I know of in Houston (simply) asking for sticker. I visited ~5 last weekend.

This. If the car you want is in any way desirable then your best bet is to just offer right around sticker and if they balk then oh well.

If you’re going in with the mindset that you won’t accept anything less than thousands below sticker just keep your current car. None of the dealers will entertain you.

The day car dealerships become obsolete will be a good day.

Okay, then you say Dallas FW. Put the urgency back on them. The Jordan Belfort "sell me this pen" approach. Just re-watch his greaseball buddy's answer to it and you'll understand.

Because a Straight-to-consumer Manufacturer will offer Below MSRP? OP's dealer is offering MSRP.

It may be tempting to take his MiL out to get a better deal but harder to hide a body these days

Then I'm throwing some repairs at the old jalopy and waiting this shite out for another 12 months or more.

This.....800 credit score and Chase offered me 6.6% on a new car loan. 2 years ago with a 40 point lower credit score they gave me 4.14% on same term.

This interest rate shite is ridiculous right now.

The people thinking manufacturer owned "sales locations" will offer better deals than the dealers do are woefully mistaken.

Competition with other dealers gets you lower prices. Since there is little to no inventory there is not much of that competition going on.

The only people that would benefit are the guys buying ZO6 Vettes or Raptors. (Which I know covers most of the OT) Vehicles that are selling for well over sticker.

I went with ford, 1.9%. They were offering better than my credit union.

Offer to pay msrp on choice one if they cover taxes and fees

Offer to buy choice 2 for 58k.

Look online for similar cars with a better price and print it out and claim I’ll drive farther if they don’t give me a deal but I wanted to give them to opportunity for my business

Ummm... in this market with lack of inventory, you would be incorrect the majority of the time under present conditions. Assuming decent/solid brand.

One thing is to ask about the tires.

They seem to put crappy tires on new cars these days, make sure if you are buying new, you get a much better tire.

I ain't paying sticker for any damn vehicle unless she's walking across the quad to meet me for a special test drive!

brand new car, $60,000 MSRP sticker, your number one choice in exact detail. There is 1 on the lot. Dealership tells you someone is interested in buying this vehicle this weekend.

No vehicle in decent shape is predictably unreliable in 2 years. Not anything that is remotely worth trading in on a $60K vehicle anyway.

You think I'm training your weak arse sales skills?

Your boss is not going to be impressed with your effort in this.
