The next Olympics may not have Lebron Durant or Curry
It’s gonna be a battle in 2028

I think Team USA seriously needs a full-time coach like U.S. Soccer has. Preferably he'd be a chainsmoking eastern European basketball savant with gray hair and who never smiles.
Have a core group of about 7 players who at least agree to practice together when their schedules align with our chainsmoking European coach off-and-on and also do Zoom sessions.

I really hope we can get some NFL guys in flag football in 2028 and get that going.

Yeah. If you look at the NBA stats for 1992 and 2024 you see;
1992 - Top 8 players in Value over replacement player were on roster. And. Bird and Magic were not in those 8 since they were toward end of their careers.
2024 - Top 3 players in VORP were Jokic, Doncic, and Giannis. Wemby was also 17. Lebron was 7, Halliburton 8, Davis 9, Tatum 10, Embiid 11, Curry 12, Durant 14, Edwards 18

I think USA needs to focus on building an actual team instead of just throwing all the best players together. That or find a coach who builds chemistry better than Kerr.
I’m happy with Gold but goodness if you think about the talent on this team. Regardless of the world catching up they shouldn’t have had a game closer than 10 points. There was something off, they should’ve crushed Serbia regardless of Jokic.
They need more role players not ISO guys. You had 3 top 15 players of all time. Lebron and Curry are top 10 easy, KD top 15. That’s ALL TIME, yet they had close calls.
